Self-proclaimed Asshole
I saw this on a number of websites but not positive:
Like muscle strains, contusions are grade 1, 2 or 3 depending on the severity.
Nevertheless. Contusion = bruise. Not worried.

Good to know.Nevertheless. Contusion = bruise. Not worried.
I hope you are right on this. It would be great to see.I could be wrong, but I got a hunch Holland comes off this injury like he did in 2014. I think he'll be nails. Just a gut feeling. Could be gas.
That looks like a lights out BP. It will put pressure on the other team knowing they do not want to be down when it gets to the 6th or 7th inning. Nice to have.So the bullpen...I am loving it right now. Their ability to shorten a game will be valuable going forward.
Some people are concerned because his control is off-the-charts bad. It's unsustainable at this rate. He did last 6 innings in his first start, but it was anything but good. Had you watched tonight, you would have seen him walk three straight batters on a total of 13 pitches, including walking in a run. His ball to strike ratio is currently worse than any Rangers starter this year. It is way beyond "control issues". Unless he improved significantly, he's not going to make it to 5 innings very often.Harrell has control issues. That is just him. He did pitch 6 innings in his 1st start so why are some of you acting like he will pitch just 3-5 innings in every start. Get the ball to the pen with the lead in the 6th or 7th and it is lights out. We are deep enough to handle that.
Allowing the runner to take 2nd led to that run. But he has just the 1 blown save since taking the closers job.I wonder if a couple more nailbiters from Dyson has the Rangers thinking about Jeffress in the 9th and moving Dyson back to 7th or 8th.
Also hoping Lucroy and Odor switch spots in the order going forward.
I knew he had control issues when we got him but saw he seems to wiggle out of it much of the time. I wondered before this game how he was going to handle pitching against his old team in a big game. Some people are concerned because his control is off-the-charts bad. Oh I agree at this point. Just having flashbacks of "John Wetteland saves" whenever he takes the mound lately.Allowing the runner to take 2nd led to that run. But he has just the 1 blown save since taking the closers job.

Good points.Let's be pragmatic here, here is hoping we get 2 or 3 starts tops needed out of him. When we got him, we trusted he would be at least at a minimum a slight upgrade over Cheech Nick or Lohse. I still think that is true. Is he what I prefer? No. Our obvious weakness is young near ready minor league starters. We really need to do better with this.
However, we avoided trading more for a rental which I have definitely regretted in the past so I think we bear with this. We also did not overpay on Sale. But best case scenario, Dutch is ready and yes we do hope he has some velo back and a slider.
In the meanwhile let's hope it sustains 2 more starts
There have been times I have thought that should not be charged as an earned run unless there is an extra base hit or other hits follow. But I have never been a fan of just allowing a guy to take 2nd because if you hold him at 1st your best opportunity may be a force at 2nd.That defensive indifference made no sense to me.

Right. I think there actually more negatives that come out of it than positives. I think too many managers do things just because that is the way it is done now instead of just be an individual. One of the things I like about Joe Maddon. Not when you're leading by only two runs.
