Lineup against RHPs will always get more thumbs up bc it will include Mazara and Mitch over DDJ & Rua

He was talking about how some people are questioning last nights lineup and he said something to the effect of, "I get that. But like it or not, you can't just put your best lineup out there every night. It's not just rest, although it is a big part. But keep in mind having your backups ready in case of injury is imperative. So, even if they - backups - aren't going well, you can't just sit them. If someone goes down and they have to fill in for 10 games or so, you need to have them in some type of game condition."

I get that but Rua was in recently and should have been on the bench and Moreland playing. When it becomes a LHer pitching thing it gets out of hand. If that was the case then sit Odor who was 2 for 20 against Kuechel and play Profar.

Good point.

I would have rather have seen Lucroy rested the day before and let him work with Perez. He seems to be the most mentally fragile pitcher of our starters at this time, and maybe Luc could have kept him grounded for however long he's out there.

Agree but I did like his last AB. He stroked it pretty well to RF so that was encouraging. But we need a number of guys to start stepping up with RISP. That includes Beltre as well.

Correct! When a team only gets three hits it's difficult to point out two ( Rua/DeShields) for not delivering.

AB ain't getting younger, and Aug is a good time to give him a day or two off, over the course of 15 games or so.

It also makes it hard to give Perez too much grief.

You make a good point re.. AB and the heat and Beltran may find the Aug. heat a little trying. Should be opportunities for Profar to get ab's depending on Bannister.
