This one is partially on Jeff Banister. Lucroy, Mazara, Profar, and Moreland all sitting on the bench makes zero sense. I don't care that Keuchel is a lefty. You can't sit that many guys who are much better hitters than the trash you put out there in the 6, 8, and 9 holes. I don't care if Nomar Mazara was batting .035 against lefties this year. I would still start him in a heartbeat over Ryan Rua because a 3.5% chance of getting a hit is better than a 0% chance.
I agree.. there's times when you just put your best players out there. I saw this lineup and knew it was not gonna be good .

Thanks Banny for not putting your best 9 hitters in the lineup. Especially against the team that is in second place and trying to catch you. Another bad decision.

Or moved down. But the problem is a lot of guys need to sit. They just need to get things going. I do not understand why this offense is doing so bad. But Banister needs to quit sitting guys when they get hot. He did that to Rua, then Profar and now he is doing it to Moreland. I do not care if a left hander is pitching. Anyone else we put at 1st can't hit their way out of a paper bag right now so play Mitch.

It's sad, but Mitch is the only option really. He should play, not because he is great, but because everyone else at 1st is pretty worthless. I have seen idiots on Twitter saying that Mitch should be extended. I'm not kidding. Everyone here at SportsHoopla knows he won't be here next year.

Mitch wins player of the week, and then Banny sits him. Typical Banny.

Every year I did not want Mitch back. But when he is on a roll he hits everything well even his outs. I really am not concerned about next year but if Mitch is gone we may see a really mediocre 1st baseman if it is Gallo. I have not paid attention to Guzman defensively but he has looked good offensively at AA. Have to wait and see how he does over time at AAA.

1 hit a piece from Choo, Beltran and Beltre and goose eggs from every other spot will never get it done. Perez stunk it up for the 1 inning but had he only given up 1 they would have lost regardless. Desmond has to get right soon

Desmond doesn't deserve the blame tonight tho. The line up was down right retarded. Why do you wait until you play the team who is trying to catch you to rest people? Rooster better be sending out his best 1-9 the rest of the series. He gave the Astros an easy time of it tonight. Not saying it is why we lost, but it didn't help.

Yeah I know a LHP on the mound but you put your hot bats in the line up.

I know many of you wanted to go down to Houston and continue the dominance, but I think Rooster doesn't place very much importance on this series. I'm thinking he wants to get one game and move on.

Here is why:

The Rangers: 4 more games on the road ( in the immediate future) and 18/23 games at home against teams a combined 19 games under .500 and as we all know, The Rangers are almost as good as the Orioles at home.

At the same time.....

The Astros: they have a 25 game stretch coming up against teams combined 2 games over .500
17/25 of the Astros games are on the road and the Astros are just a mediocre road team at best.

It looks like a recipe for the Rangers to gain ground in the division. Just gotta win one in the damn juice box.

You always place importance on head to head matchups. That's just dumb.

Take two aspirins and put an ice pack on your head. That make no sense to not want to win every game. You need to quit thinking it makes your head hurt.

They didn't rest people, other than Lucroy, Rua and Deshields played bc of perceived platoon advantage, these would've been the right plays a couple weeks ago

Problem is, DDJ has had reverse splits all year and Rua is in a bad way right now

Moreland and Mazara would've been the better plays last night

I can't speak to Lucroy though

Agree and in the case of resting Lucroy I think it was good just because of the early morning arrival. He had a quick flight to join the team and then after the Baltimore game. He should play the last 2 even though it is an evening and then afternoon game.

I can see Lucroy getting a day off. Sitting behind the dish in the dog days of August with gear is taxing on the body. I agree Mitch at least should have been in the line up.
