How would getting him at bats at dh be worse for his development than letting him rot on the bench 5 days a week? Honestly, did you read that before you hit submit?

do you understand what a DH does during the game? he sits on the bench or at the top of the dugout, trots out, swings the bat and then goes back into the dugout and sits until his next at-bat. i want him to succeed but he needs to be on the field at 3rd or 1st for him to do that.

No, i hate to say this but he needs to be at AAA getting the reps at 3rd and/or 1st that he's not going to get at ML level. he stays up with Rangers and he's going to see the field maybe 2 times a week (hopefully at least 3) and that's not what he needs.

Gotta keep working verlander to get him out of the game. I don't see him losing control of the game, but if we can scratch a couple across and keep his pitch count up I like our chances if holland can keep it going.

I would agree if they're not going to play him he should go to AAA, but the point is he's here and they brought him to play. As long as he's here he should be getting plate appearances even if that means taking away playing time from a veteran with a -2 WAR at dh.
