Just realized ... had TEX not DFA'd Gonzalez to make room for Lowe they would have optioned Scheppers back to AAA instead. That would have meant that Lowe would have been the one to give up the inside the parker to Jackson instead of Scheppers.

Angels get more luck than any team in baseball. First, Trout knocks in TWO runners off a sac fly to the outfield which idiot Thames caught in FOUL territory then lazily threw in to second base. Because of the lazy play, Aybar was able to score from second on a weak fly to foul territory. Then, because Wilhelmsen was unavailable tonight, the M's threw out a total spare (Kinney) in the 9th to wild pitch the game away. They gift-wrapped that game to the Angels about as nicely as we did for the Royals the other day in extra innings.

And the day after Leyland says Cabrera should be the MVP, Trout gets 1 hit and drives in 5 runs.

I was disgusted with the way the Rangers left runners on base last night. Two in scoring position with one out.Bases loaded and 2 out .I knew we were going to lose this game by not giving Feldman any run support against a team with big batsNow we have to face Verlander and another good pitcher tomorrow.Hoping Darvish and Holland get their acts together or we could face an embarrassing sweep at home

Whose places would you have stuck them in? MY went 3 for 3 with a walk and Murphy did okay so who would you have benched?

What do you mean "Murphy did okay?" Murphy was 0 for 4 with 2 Ks and 7 LOB. Three days ago Wash named Murphy a full time player saying ...

"When I told Murph he would start against left-handers, I told him to get mentally prepared for it," Washington said. "Now he's focused on it. Murphy is knocking the heck out of the ball, so I've decided to have him go against everybody until he proves otherwise."

Over the last 7 days his line is .150 .182 .200 .382. Before he was selected he wasn't performing and it continues. I want to see Gentry was far hotter than Murphy in the lineup. He covers more ground in CF than Hamilton and arguably cuts off Jackson's triple in the gap that Cruz had to field.

MY was 3/3 plus a walk and had his best output in a 9inning game since May 27th. What are the odds of that happening again any time soon? If we are going to use 20/20 hindsight ... since Beltre went hitless ... maybe Olt playing 3b might have had a better night?

Gentry needs to be in the lineup every single night ... he creates a better advantage in the field over Murphy ... he runs the bases better than Murphy ... and he has a better OBP than Murphy and is only 30 points behind Murphy's OPS. In 100 fewer ABs ... Gentry has a 2.4 WAR compared to Murphy's 1.6 WAR. (Compared to MY's -1.9 WAR)

I make Murphy a platoon with MY at DH ... and play Gentry in CF every night. I make Olt a platoon with Moreland plus 1 3b start every week with Beltre DHing that night.

My lineup (and one proposed by many fans) is far superior to Wash's by every measure ... offensively and defensively.

Suggest next time when you jump in and say "Murphy did okay" ... that you actually go check how he did and how the game might have changed had Gentry been in CF.

One single positive note... Young hasn't been totally awful at the plate the last few games. He's actually getting hits and driving in a couple runs. Now granted they're punch and Judy singles, but those might as well be triples in the gap for him.

You are right ... last 14 days: .319/.346/.362/.708 in 47AB with 6 RBI and only 1 GDP. For the season against RHP he's .256/.280/.330/.610 while against LHP he's .323/.360/.402/.762 which is why I'd have him platoon with Murphy.

The danger right now is that without a UIF ... using Young at DH leaves TEX exposed without an in game sub for Elvis and Kinsler. That is a better option though than having him on the field.

Yeah and you know that wasn't Wash's decision so it makes me wonder if the FO isn't working on a trade to get another UIF.

Ross 15-6 (40%), Scheppers 20-11 (55%), and Lowe 21-10 (48%) ... had terrible command of the strike zone last night ... walking 5 of the 15 batters they faced.

When is Koji supposed to be back?

You mean the guy that gives up more HRs than Lowe?

We can only pray. Mike Fontenot.

The other question is did the FO DFA Gonzalez to force Wash's hand to sit MY and Wash is wiping his butt with their decisions? If that's the case this reminds of the scene in money ball when billy beane starts trading away the managers players to force him to play the correct lineup. If that's the case Wash just needs to be fired.
