The other question is did the FO DFA Gonzalez to force Wash's hand to sit MY and Wash is wiping his butt with their decisions? If that's the case this reminds of the scene in money ball when billy beane starts trading away the managers players to force him to play the correct lineup. If that's the case Wash just needs to be fired.

Well don't see the FO doing anything like that ...in this case moving Gonzalez just to be able to activate Lowe.

how does DFA'ing Gonzalez force Wash to sit MY? Wash has stated numerous times that it's his job to put the best lineup out there for each game. when was the last time that Gonzalez got into a game?

DFA'ing Gonzalez makes Young your only utility infielder. Playing your only UIF at dh puts you in a very tight spot in the event of injury to one of your starting IF because then you have to move young out of the dh spot and you lose your dh. Therefore, a reasonably intelligent manager would not have MY DH'ing 4-5 games a week and would in fact have Olt DH'ing more when he's not filling in at first or third base. Following my breadcrumb trail yet?

I will give the man credit when he shows me he can employ logic and intelligence in his decision making. As long as he continues to make stupid decisions so easily broken down as this I will continue to say he is a detriment to this team and should be fired immediately.

So Young should be relegating Olt to the bench week in and week out based on what? His amazing performance this season? In Olt's few appearances he's been very productive. He's worked walks, hit a little, and driven in runs. At least give the kid a chance to show us what he can do because I cannot see it being worse than young and so far he's been better. Honestly, how you can go to bat for Wash putting Young in the lineup every day is beyond me. He has negative WAR. That means he has cost this team wins over any replacement scrub. He is the second worse every day player in baseball second only to Jeff Francoeur.

and Wash doesn't agree with your assessment but i do expect to see Olt getting playing time at 1st at least 3 times a week maybe more. but putting him at DH is going to do more damage to him than good

Wash's assessments are garbage. If you can still defend him then so are yours. How exactly does putting Olt at dh do more damage than good? I can't wait for this answer....

I fear this will be a long and frustrating game, not just because he's wild right now, but his recent history has shown no ability to write his own ship when things aren't going well.
