Lucroy just vetoed the CLE trade. That has got to give the MEts and Rangers some leverage. MKE thought they were getting a haul of prospects and now may be getting nothing.

I'd remind them of our offer, whatever it is, and tell them if they want it they take it now. We already moved on to plan B for the batting/Catching situation so don't need MKE anymore

Give them Joey Gallo as the "almost ready" and DDJ as the "ML ready" and call it a deal! Done!

I'd do that deal. We seem to repeatedly hit on position prospects, but were incredibly starved for young quality starting pitching. Deal from strength to improve your weakness.

That's very interesting.

I'm surprised to see the Dodgers at #1. I've always thought of them as a team who likes to build in Free agency and a team who likes to throw money around.
Yes interesting they keep their farm making a lot of deals. However they work the August waiver wire a lot looking for teams interested in dumping salary.

Would you really want to live in the Cleveland area? :-)

Jonathan Lucroy Exercises No-Trade Clause, Vetoes Deal To Indians

By Steve Adams | July 31, 2016 at 9:58am CDT

Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports that Jonathan Lucroyhas exercised his no-trade clause and vetoed a trade that would have sent him to the Indians in exchange for four prospects (Twitter link

You see this happen sometimes, and the players agent is just trying to get some type of better compensation before his client agrees to the trade. It wouldn't at all surprise me if this were the case here.

Lucroy asked the Indians not to exercise the 2017 team option on his contract, and when they wouldn't, he vetoed the trade.

He wouldn't be able to veto a deal to the Rangers, so I'm wondering if JD could get him for a slightly lesser package.

Im pretty certain they don't really have any interest in moving Mazara or Profar, and thats what most are asking for I'm sure. If Gallo and a lesser package won't get it done, they probably stand pat

All hope is not gone. We've done pretty well thus far with Colby and Derek on the way. Lot of time left.

Padres Pushing To Move Derek Norris; Brewers, Rangers, Astros Have Interest

By Steve Adams | July 31, 2016 at 12:34pm CDT

12:34pm: Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports tweets that in addition to the Brewers, the Rangers and Astros are also showing interest in Norris. Of course, the Norris fit only makes sense for the Brewers if Lucroy is moved to another club, and he has since exercised his no-trade clause and squashed a would-be deal to the Indians.
