Proud day for you, Yerry. You just got out-pitched by Spencer Howard. Take a bow.

Just to recap. Dunning was solid but got screwed on a few bad calls from the umpire - calling a handful of obvious strikes as balls which led to at least one additional run for SD. The offense is still stuck somewhere in Houston trying to hitch a ride to California, meanwhile Rodriguez was given such a long leash when he should have been pulled after the third batter he faced.
Bochy's great, but tonight he had a really bad game.

I'd let LeClerc finish out the game. This is about as much of a low pressure scenario as it could get for him.

Rangers are now 20-24 in last 44 games. That includes a 6 game win streak out of the all star break. This team is not a couple moves away from WS contention.

I really hope CY plays the long game here. Rangers need a productive off-season. They don't need to go all in on this season. They are basically a below .500 team at this point. They will most likely finish 3rd on the AL West this season. But 2024 looks really promising.

The one who has lost 5 of 7, is missing their All Star SS, lost their All Star C today, and needs at least 1 SP, 2 RP and a DH to stay competitive.
Gotcha

When Seager is back, I think Duran needs an extended break,,,,,

I dont know if this team can compete with real contenders even with another SP for the front end of the rotation. 2 RP's and a solid bat. They just seem to be a team that is playing just barely above average and do you go all in with this current bunch playing the way they are?

I think Young is probably tipping his hand at the moment. I sort of hope any moves are for guys that will be around beyond this year and hopefully next. The ultimate prize doesn't seem to be attainable with this group unless they play well above their heads for an extended period like earlier in the season.....it's just probably the harsh reality

Exactly what I've been saying. This is not their year. So don't makes moves pretending it could be. But I'm afraid we are going to make a couple of desperate trades that won't do much to improve this team but will hurt us next season and beyond when we actually may be good enough to contend.

We should sit tight. But we won't. And we'll regret it later.

And now looks like Heim is out for the season. If that's the case, this one is over.

This team can not win the division without help. CY get off your backside and do your part or let it be known that 2024 is the year.

too much is needed. need to roll with what we have
I’m for moves that aren’t rentals then we are looking ahead beyond any playoff considerations. If we can trade for a quality starter and for relievers who will be here in 2024 and maybe beyond then it makes sense to do it

If we are trading for 2024 and beyond then those trades don't have to take place now. If the cost is expected to go down after this season them it would be prudent to wait until then. I am not sure if that is the case, but I think it tends to work that way.

There is still a lot of building to do to get this team to a WS.
