Winston Santos with a great outing in tonight's playoff game with Midland.

There has been no swings and misses this inning. Not sure what is going on with Eovaldi.

Well, Eovaldi may be wise to take the option. That may be more than he can get with the way his season is ending.

Luisangel Acuna hit his 1st MLB homer tonight for the Mets. He also had a single and a double.

Read an interview that CY had with SI. He said that he plans on not hardly any changes in the lineup. He feels that players had a bad year and they will bounce back. Basically what we heard all season from him.

At this point Eovaldi may just take the player option. If he does it would be worth trying to trade him for cheap in the offseason just to free up the salary space.

Leiter does not belong in the pen. Bochy just cannot handle young guys when ther are older alternatives around. He is as bad as Wash, or maybe worse.
Between the majors and the minors he has pitched around 105 innings this year, which I believe is close to the most in his career, so it's possible they want to limit his innings the rest of the way. It's not wise IMO, but might be their rational?
I agree with you though. He should be allowed to make at least another start or two. He's steadily improved since getting called back up
and looks ready for the big leagues. Hopefully they're planning around him and Rocker being in next year's rotation.

From Jared Sandler:

Rangers with 3+ XBH in a game this season

Wyatt Langford

and...

Wyatt Langford.

Langford's the only one and he's done it twice, joining Mike Lamb (2000) and David Murphy (2007) as the only players in club history with multiple 3+ XBH games in their rookie seasons.

Imagine what a year we could have with a healthy Carter, Jung and Langford next year. I don't mean all of them have to play 155 games; maybe all of them playing 140 games, along with Seager.

Carter worries me that he missed a whole season especially at his age.

tonight's game should be interesting. Francis has gone to the 9th inning in 2 of his last 3 games with no-hitters on the line and finished with 1 hitters

Don’t know what the story is with Crim. He wasn’t picked up when exposed to the rule 5 draft. He’s 5’10” and now 27 years old. Does he not fit the traditional tall 1B player the Rangers want? Do the Rangers view him and Huff as career minor leaguers? Have they been offered as trade bait and rejected?

I think they are stuck on Lowe. They have been afraid to take a chance that someone like Crim will be better. Lowe is a safe choice in their eyes. I believe they feel the same about Heim.

Now, with a budget crunch coming we will see if they decide to go cheaper at 1B.

The Rangers have had plenty of prospects ahead of Crim when they have traded. Overall though, the Rangers have made very few trades where they were the buyers since Crim has reached AA.

My gut tells me we will look back a few years from now and wonder what in the world CY was thinking when he traded away both Huff and Crim, but especially Crim. Kind of like we do now with Ragans.

Baseball people in general find it hard to think outside the box. Groupthink is rampant throughout the sport. They will tell you Crim is too old for his level, even though he never had a problem with any of the levels. He never had to be held back because of struggling. He couldn't help old old he was when he was drafted.
