Oh, I'm sure the fact that the GM just traded for two very notable SPs is playing in the back of his mind. Depending on Eovaldi's health, Heaney's only real chance at avoiding the pen is either (a) they decide to put Dunning in there (don't think so), or (b) Heaney takes Gray's job and he gets put in the pen instead.
Neither is super likely, but not impossible.

Just thinking it may be helpful to bring in a different hitting coach and a different offensive coordinator along with a different approach.
Seems right now our hitters are way too swing-happy. Not to say the struggles couldn't just simply be on the players. Not sure.
