Series Thread: Rangers Host the Royals For Three Games June 21-23

Eovaldi is scheduled to pitch Friday. The other starting pitchers are listed as TBD.

The last time through the rotation, we saw Dunning and Gray follow Eovaldi. If Scherzer returns to the rotation this weekend, as expected, then that could mean Dunning being moved to the pen, if it is to be based on seniority. Under CY and Bochy, a young player usually has to have a significant edge over an older player, if he is to have a chance to be chosen over a veteran.

The Rangers are 6.5 games behind, for the third wildcard spot. They have 6 other teams to contend with to win that third spot. They are a game behind the 2014 Rangers team after 74 games

I guess we will see if Josh Smith is ready to play in the field tonight. That is the same Smith who leads the team in OPS. Smith leads that category over second place Corey Seager who trails Smith by 45 points. Third place Marcus Semien trails Smith by over 100 points.

Since Langford and Smith are having success with the bat, I would like them try batting Langford 3rd and Smith cleanup. They are getting nothing from Lowe right now. Grossman has no business batting third.

It’s got to start soon. So we need to take 2 out of 3 from KC. Going to have a win a series on the road so we need 2 out of 3 from Milwaukee and then follow up with a 4 game split with Baltimore. Orioles with be tough up at Camden but if the team wants to get back into the race then a split with Balt will be mandatory. That would put us at 40-44 coming home to play SanDiego and Tampa Bay.
