We have won 5 straight at home and tonight was 3 shutouts in a row at home.

I have been thinking, if the Rangers can stay within about 5 games around the AS break, the division could be there for the taking, if they can start hitting and scoring runs. The SP will need to continue to perform and when bullpen is restocked with the excess SP depth, that gets moved there, it should improve dramatically as well.

i don't share your faith in moving the excess SP to the pen. like to see us bring in at least 2 quality relievers through trades to bolster the pen

Yeah, I think using the excess starters in the pen has been the plan all along. If they need an additional arm, I believe they would go with Emiliano Teodo in September when his season is about done in Frisco.

If all of the starters are healthy at the same time, they would have extra relievers already.

When we signed him, several baseball people thought he would eventually move to 1B.

I believe when Mahle is ready, Heany will be going to the pen.

Cueto opted out of his minor league deal.

I guess Marcus Semien could go 0 for 100 and he'd still bat lead off. Bochy is just too stubborn to move him down I suppose. I hope Semien goes 3-4 with a HR, a double, a walk, and 3 rbi.

But most likely 1-5 with a single and 2 Ks.

It is what it is. And looks like he's our lead off guy no matter what he actually does.

Not much. Rather he be gone. Smith and Duran were great but that is no longer with Duran in AAA and Smith a starter.

Bratt continues to string together good starts. His ERA over his last 7 starts is 1.58.

Do you want someone the quality of Smith and Duran showed from 2023? Those kind of guys wouldn't cost too much. If you are talking about the quality of Smith in 2024, that will cost a lot.

No no. 2023 before Smith started to gel. To many times we needed their type to PH or substitute. They covered both of/if. Current guys can't do that.
