So we contracted all these guys including Heaney but minus Dunning and maybe Perez as he accepted the QO.

So the understanding is they agreed to sign on as a starter right?

We have a huge need for a long reliever,so who should it be? With five starters I think Dunning is best barring any injuries. Not to say Dunning is not good enough to start but he is by far the best hope we have at long relief.

I am not so sure it is a huge need with 5+ reliable starters but if it is garbage time needed then why not a guy like John King. We may see Hearn up here soon as well

Yeah, the long relief role is more of a garbage time guy now since we have reliable starters who can get to the 7th or later on a fairly regular basis.

Apples to oranges unless Miller can catch. I haven't kept up with it but he may have caught Gray last game.

Yeah, the long relief role is more of a garbage time guy now since we have reliable starters who can get to the 7th or later on a fairly regular basis.

So you are leading at end of 3 and pitcher goes down. That is not garbage time and I want a good reliever in to protect the lead. That is Dunning at the present time.

Let him revolt. Heany’s era is 4.7. Dubbing’s is 1.6. There’s no doubt who should go to the pen.
