Not saying it will fix anything. But any time a team plays this embarrassingly bad for this long, pink slips are handed out by ownership pretty quickly.

The only one I would consider keeping is Burke

Since it’s not really feasible to swap out 7 of them in one offseason, I would keep Burke and Stratton if I had to choose.

I think that has done more to demoralize this team than any other piece. You never feel you can hold onto a lead.

I honestly think this is what lies at the heart of this complete dumpster fire. The hitters, the starters, and the manager share in the responsibility for this train wreck.

But the majority of this falls squarely on the shoulders of the criminally awful bullpen. They’re not only not ever doing their job, they’re putting up historically bad numbers. They are 100% incompetent and inept.

And that HAS to wear on both the starters and hitters. They’re professionals, but even pros get dejected and defeated if they feel that what they do will never matter or be good enough.

Starters must be thinking “well, unless I pitch a complete game shut out here, I can kiss the win goodbye”. And the hitters have to be thinking “we can never score enough runs to win. No amount of doubles and home runs is ever sufficient”. So demoralizing.

So let’s see what he does to correct it. If he fails to correct the bullpen we fire him and hire someone who will
