I cannot recall a Rangers pitcher looking this good in three games in a row. Not saying it hasn't, but I cannot recall it.

Maybe. He is under contract through next year but if he keeps this up they will definitely want to keep him longer. Is it time to extend Eovaldi yet?
I was looking at an article that The Atletic had this morning about guys on struggling teams who could potentially be traded. Only two relief pitchers who were mentioned, seemed remotely attractive for us to acquire, based on performance this year. They are Buck Farmer and Scott Barlow. Maybe Chapman as well -- maybe. I sure hope some more good relievers become available between now and the deadline.
I think we might find some decent pitchers for the pen, but I am not sure about finding a closer candidate if Smith falters.I'm not sure about Chapman. Can't tell if he's fool's gold or not this year.
Regardless of what happens, I'd like the Rangers to strike first (or early) on the market, rather than letting things develop and be left with lesser options.
Looks like we have the highest scoring average minus any outliers belowthe Rangers are one of only 4 teams to have scored over 200 runs so far this season.
1. Rays - 239 runs (39 games)
2. Rangers - 231 runs (37 games)
3. Red Sox - 216 runs (38 games)
4. Dodgers - 208 (38 games)
