No they don’t, record is head to head? They’re 8-3 vs the mariners after tonight’s loss
A three way tiebreaker is different from the 2 way tiebreaker.

So will anyone be held accountable for this absolute embarrassment of a game? Eovaldi? Burke? The entire lineup?

Probably not.

Astros just won.
Pressly almost blew another save. He’s an awful closer. I never understood how he was able to do so well there for a while. He’s a soft-tossing junkballer with mediocre control.

Tip of the cap tonight goes to the Blue Jays (yuck) and Mariners for showing up and doing what needed to be done in a must-win playoff race game. Blue Jays hung 11 runs on the Rays and the M’s have already put up 8 on us.

Must be nice to cheer for a team that understands the gravity of a situation and steps up and performs under pressure.

I’ll always cheer for the Rangers no matter what. But I am just beyond sick of them failing when it matters most.

The surprising parts of this month are the sweeps of Toronto amd Seattle.

3rd consecutive at-bat for Semien where he reached base. At least one player showed up to play.

Toronto, Houston, and Seattle have tried their hardest to keep the Rangers in the playoffs. Up until this week, those teams all went into the tank while we were in the middle of our month-long “slump”. Had any of those teams played great baseball, we would be eliminated by now.

And even with those teams falling off a cliff, we STILL might not make it in. If the Rangers don’t at least get a wild card, heads should roll this off-season. Multiple heads.

No matter what else happens, Nate Lowe (and yes, I’m calling him Nate because he hates it) needs to be benched. It’s gotten way out of hand with him.

All hope might appear lost… and who knows, maybe it is. But we have to approach these last 2 as if we are capable of winning one. We have to at least try our best. And our best is without Nate Lowe. Put a first baseman’s mitt on Garver or Heim and see if they can fake playing 1B for a game. Lowe is certainly not the only reason we got clobbered. But his presence moving forward will only help cause more losses.

Maybe Burke is not here next year.
Contract accountability
Can’t throw whole team into a corner
What is needed ?

An Ezequiel Duran sighting!! That’s when you know for sure Bochy has raised the white flag.

None of this would sting so much if Bochy hadn’t lifted Leclerc for Chapman and asked him to pitch in back to back nights, where he is notoriously awful. But that would require actually using readily-available statistics to make decisions. That, and common sense.

3 hits against Bryan Woo and a bunch of spare relievers. Bravo, boys! Take a bow! The Rough Riders could have scratched out more than 3 hits against that bunch. Completely incapable of hitting line drives.

What is needed?

A brand new bullpen, or at least as many new faces there as possible in one offseason. Give Stratton and Leclerc one more season.

A manager who is capable of making decisions based on sound logic and undeniable statistical evidence. A manager who is able to recognize his team’s deficiencies and manager around them as opposed to featuring them.

A new first baseman

A new hitting coach. The first half power display is a distant memory. The team can’t hit fastballs and can’t hit with RISP, two fatal flaws. Some of that is on the players, but it’s up to the hitting coach to fix it.

Start with those changes and you’ll have a much better team.

You talked about players being held accountable
Right?

Maybe bench Lowe or move him to 9 in the lineup? Give a guy in the minors a legit shot?
Obvious holes in lineup and yes need to learn a two strike approach
Way too may strike outs which lead to the dismal RISP drought on the road
