I'm still waiting for Woody to take out some of his frustrations on the dugout/locker room trash cans... :tsk:

So I guess the next talking point for the social media crowd will be "why doesn't JD trade for bullpen help?!!"

This morning's online groundswell is removing the requirement of touching all the bases on a HR because Witt Jr against Frisco and a Pirates player both did that last night.

So at least it's not just Rangers fans who are getting dumb as shit.

Willie tries to be a first ball hitter but never seems to be successful at it.

i/m sure Gibson isn't too pleased about the offensive end of this lineup. i've seen better little league lineups

With any luck, he'll be on a contender in a few weeks and won't have to worry about the likes of Brock Holt

To be in a rebuild I hope we are not considering most of these guys as the end results.

Most are just placeholders. None are guaranteed, but they are being given a chance to prove they belong. Maybe one or two will remain for the longterm, maybe.

From Scott Lucas:

Facing his toughest opposition by far, Cole Winn suffered significant damage for the first time since the season's opening week. The Naturals lead the league in OBP and slugging, the latter by a sizable margin. Uberprospect Bobby Witt Jr. launched a fastball 442 feet to dead center. 2017 1st-rounder Nick Pratto turned a decently located curve into a souvenir, and 80-named Brewer Hicklen tacked on another in the 4th. Winn also struggled with his control for a third straight start.

Winn also threw a bunch of really nice pitches, and there's no reason to think any less of him. I prefer an occasional night like this to perpetual success. One, it provides teachable moments, and two, it quells the sentiment toward pushing him upstairs. I hope to see him in Round Rock later this season, but he's not slumming in Double A.
