I think someone who has made a difference this year but who doesn't get talked about much is Anthony Iapoce. The hitters just seem, for the most part, to have better approaches at the plate and seem to have bought into the whole team hitting concept.

Light years better than Dave Magadan, anyway.

I am pretty convinced that hitting instructors have a short self life and mostly don't matter in the long run.

We've mentioned Iapoce a few times this season. Just haven't talked much about him lately, but you're right. Aside from those first couple weeks where everyone was in some kind of funk, the hitting has been far superior top to bottom.
