Did we actually bring Hoying up? Hoying and Alberto are a waste. I agree with you guys on letting Gallo get some at bats at 1st. He could hit against LHers and Profar against RHers if we keep playing Moreland at 1st/DH as the other option.

Gallo, Maz and Profar would play everyday against RHPs which would be 70%+ of the time

Rua would get his swings against LHPs and then you make a decision on the other 2 spots between Gallo, Profar and Maz

Rua, Profar and Gallo's ability to play multiple positions is helpful

Against RHPs the lineup is pretty straightforward

Against LHPs its a bit more up in the air, I gave DDJ and Rua the advantage due to being RH'ed, but honestly the other OF spot and DH should go those hitting the best at the time, plus DDJ is a good PR option

I'd call up Gallo and option Alberto back down at least while Choo is out

With Fielder gone it finally creates a culture where the best players can play and actually earn their playing time

I wonder how Roth would do starting a game for the Rangers instead of coming out of the pen. I noticed in 7 innings he has given up 2 hits and has 8 K's lowering his ERA to 2.32.

Noticed Eickhoff had a Ranger like outing of late against Miami today. 2 of his last 3 have been really bad but before that he was pitching very well.

Probably right. I know he has had some games where he has pitched very well but had no run support.

They need to cut that guy loose. When Lohse, Chi Chi and Martinez have 5 something ERA's you cannot expect much when called up. But of the 3 I would go with Nick but that is not a good thing.

With there being a place to keep his bat in the lineup almost everyday it would be hard to move him without hurting the team.

This highlights the dilemma of this deadline...the Rangers have, in Profar, a good young major league player who they can afford to part with, but there's no one out there who appears to be available who would be worth dealing Profar for. Rosenthal says that the Rangers and Tampa Bay Rays aren't really matching up, making a deal for Matt Moore or Jake Odorizzi unlikely.

He is still just at Spokane, but he is putting up some great numbers. I would love to see him get some time in at Hickory.

It may be time to give Andrew Faulkner another chance in the pen. In his last 13 outings that totaled 18 innings he has given up 1 ER on 8 hits and 2 walks while striking out 15.
