tired of everyone referring to luis as a "5 tool player". he isn't! his arm is suspect, his average is suspect, his fielding is suspect. throw in that his health is suspect and certainly his income is ridiculous .... i don't see them getting much for him. he shows flashes of good stuff but has never been consistent. personally want to see him gone!

Holy shit, I just returned from vacay and read this. Mingo passed? Wow, how sad. Easily the most passionate, caring and knowledgeable Sox fan on this board. SH won't be the same without him.

all the sox pages talking about roki sasaki. did anyone believe this stuff? i figure if sasaki can read at all there's no way in hell he'd be interested in the sox. if his agent follows the game there's no way he'd be interested in the sox. still, sox writers keep shoveling the bullshit.

He was such a good dude and I'm not just saying this - I will really miss him on this forum.

Everybody here can be such an asshole, myself included... just not him. lol. He was always really level headed and easy to get along/converse with.

That's just shitty, shitty news. I wish I had known him better and I hope his family is hanging in there. That's all I can really think of right now.

so, bob uecker died. was listening to someone online talking about the fact he was so self-effacing and he would often say how bad he was. so, i looked up his stats, and man ... he WAS bad! both at bat (lifetime .200, no speed, no power) and behind the plate (most games he ever played is a season was 76 and he led the league in errors that year! he never played enough to lead in any other year). i mean ... how indeed did he ever make it to the majors .... and for six years!!! he certainly was a funny and likable guy and i'm sure his teammates loved him but holy shit! that was the best they could find?
