True, we do get first crack in every round thereafter. But nothing like getting the top rated player in the entire draft. I'll go to my grave thinking this rule sucks. They need to amend it.

Only 11 of the first 59 number one picks in the MLB draft are considered the best choice based on today's information.
And interestingly enough, the Sox are 5-5 in their last 10 games (and short of a total collapse today, are set to sweep the Angels and go 6-5). Not sure if there's any such previous stretch of games where we played .500 ball.

The Tigs are in the thick of the postseason race, so we can pretty much count on them throwing everything at us to clinch a spot. Might only take one game for them to get in and if so, I can see them resting some of their key personnel or at least limiting their playing time for the other games.
