Just looking at it, all depends on who Houston takes. The Bears (2), Seattle (3) and Zona (4) all likely picking defense so a QB will be there for Indy. Just depends on who.

My point is those teams will get offers to move down from teams wanting their QB. Houston should be looking at QB too IMO. Seattle could, Geno's asking price may be a factor there.

Better be a big haul offered because there are two impact DL worth a top 5 pick

Yeah, exactly. Seattle is the only real player here imo because of the unknown regarding Geno's asking price. But I really hope they don't pass on either of those guys on D because Chicago definitely taking one and Zona likely to scoop the other.

Yeah, it’s going to take a great offer for those top teams to pass on those defensive studs.

And the fact the QB’s in this class aren’t surefire guys means team needing QB’s may not want to invest extra capital to get them, and opt to wait and see who falls to them instead.

Compared to last year's crop, at least the top 2 or 3 QBs look like HOF locks lol.

I have a tough time projecting some of these Georgia defenders, since they are in a rotation on such a loaded unit (again).

Indy currently picking 5th, would have to trade up. Anyone not taking QB in the top 2-3 should be trading down IMO.
Thats probably how it'll work although I suspect getting to the 2nd or 3rd pick shouldn't take an RG3 trade if you're also picking top 6. I think Will Robinson, Jalen Carter, and Bijan Robinson will be coveted. There is a chance Will Levis won't be coveted.

The 'how high should Bijan Robinson be taken' conversation should probably happen at some point.

but I was told runningbacks don't matter three years ago on this very site
The league does change. When the Greatest Show on Turf came out, throwing to the RB was like a cheat code. Defenses adapted. Peyton, Brady, Mahomes come out and spread the defenses out and get easy long TDs and it was like a cheat code. Defenses adapted. Now defenses are giving teams the RB for free again.

beauty is in the eye of the beholder

I'd take him where Dallas picks and I don't care for Longhorn football.

Could be there, projections have him going 2nd half of the 1st from what I've seen (not that projections really mean much this early).

Walterfootball currently has him going #4 to Arizona.

Personally, I think he'll go 10-15 but I wouldn't be shocked if he sneaks up.

Great player. I’m very much against drafting any RB that high when there are guys all over the league getting drafted on the 2nd or 3rd day or even UFA that are big time contributors in the league. Best case scenario is you’re right and now you have to fuck up your cap overpaying a plug and play position or you let a great player walk because now you don’t want to screw up your cap. Even if you win on the pick you lose long term.

I think the success of kids like Ken Walker, Travis Etienne, Isiah Pacheco and Breece Hall (pre-injury) are making people rethink a little too. Still not sure of drafting them too high and all that but copycat league and also run defense not as good overall across the league, imo.
