How do you think he got those French to support a ragtag band of revolutionaries? He went down-town...B Frank was a big time poon hound.

I think Dak in a way is the most disappointing. He had a top shelf oline and a blue chip RB and some pretty decent receivers. He is the only guy you could realistically see traded here. Older than the other guys. Making top money.
He knows his own limitations. He comes in swinging as an obese senior citizen; he knows he has to bring all the intangibles. How do you think he got those French to support a ragtag band of revolutionaries? He went down-town...
Herbert has been strong in the regular season, he just hasn’t done good in the playoffs and was especially dismal in last year’s playoff game. I certainly wouldn’t write him off and I don’t think he’s anywhere near a bust.I think Dak in a way is the most disappointing. Trevor Lawrence, despite the hype, his most common draft comparison was Justin Herbert. Lawrence is still young, never had a good coach, honestly probably never had a contending team, and has 1 playoff win.
Herbert has a long line of excuses. I think the story with him has yet to be told. Keenan Allen was really big for him. Herbert had a stellar rookie year, was elite in year 2. I wouldn't write him off.
I guess it depends on how this is framed. If we are basing it on college then its Lawrence by a mile but I think if you remove college from the equation then its clearly Dak. Dak is the only one that has been on teams that you could look at and think 'yeah, maybe this year they could win a title'Herbert has been strong in the regular season, he just hasn’t done good in the playoffs and was especially dismal in last year’s playoff game. Dak wasn’t highly regarded coming out of college, unlike the other 3, yet he’s turned into a decent franchise QB who’s made the playoffs 5 times. I don’t see how he can be viewed as “disappointing” - yeah he could’ve done more in the playoffs but he hasn’t been a disappointment.
Murray and Lawrence have been underwhelming, but neither have had very good supporting casts around them. Murray’s numbers have actually been pretty good in every season he’s been healthy in, the Cards have just had subpar teams. Lawrence though has only had 1 good season despite being the most hyped up prospect in several years, he is the only one of those four I would call a true disappointment so far, but I’m not writing him off yet, he still has time to turn it around.

That’s interesting, because really the only team that I could see as a Super Bowl contender that Dak has been on was 2016 when the Cowboys went 13-3 and lost in the divisional round of the playoffs, he’s been on some good teams, 21-22-23 were strong teams but I don’t know if they were Super Bowl caliber teams, and Dak wasn’t the sole reason they disappointed in the playoffs in those years.I guess it depends on how this is framed. Even then, though, its hard to put everyone on him.

I thought all rookie contracts were guaranteed.Interesting - regarding where the cut off for a fully guaranteed Second round rookie contract might fall
Agreed, and I don’t really feel like Herbert is getting a free pass, I think most people see him as a pretty good QB who’s been very disappointing in the playoffs. Herbert may be occasionally hyped up too much but I think that has died down, especially after his 4 pick performance in last year’s playoff loss.People giving Hwrbert a free pass is getting old. The guy is going year 6 with zero playoff wins. If we can criticize Lamar or Dak, we can criticize Herbert.

The only knock on Lamar is that he’s never made the Super Bowl - he’s clearly one of the top 4 QBs in the NFL, and I think most people acknowledge that. I find it a bit odd that Lamar seems to be criticized more than Josh Allen for never making a Super Bowl - both Allen and Lamar are top 4 QBs who just haven’t gotten to the big game.

I guess my point with Lawrence is that he has only had 4 seasons and he had one of the worst rosters in football for 2 of those seasons. I don't expect him to ever be a top 6 QB but I wouldn't be shocked if he makes some playoffs runs in the next decade. That’s interesting, because really the only team that I could see as a Super Bowl contender that Dak has been on was 2016 when the Cowboys went 13-3 and lost in the divisional round of the playoffs, he’s been on some good teams, 21-22-23 were strong teams but I don’t know if they were Super Bowl caliber teams, and Dak wasn’t the sole reason they disappointed in the playoffs in those years.
It is underwhelming that they’ve never reached an NFC Title Game with Dak, they probably should’ve made it there at least once with him, but it’s hard to call a QB who’s made the playoffs 5 times a disappointment, especially when you compare him with the other 3 in that graphic, Lawrence has only had 1 good season, Murray has only reached the playoffs once and hasn’t been top tier, and Herbert has played well in the regular season but just hasn’t done anything in the playoffs. It’s an interesting discussion, and it’s notable that Dak has been in the NFL a few years longer than the other 3 so he’s had more chances for a playoff run. It just seems like Lawrence is the clear cut choice to be the biggest disappointment of those, a number 1 overall pick who has only had 1 good season out of 4, there have been other factors but still he hasn’t come close to meeting expectations.
to me this is easy.
