you absolutely traded him for Cap reasons.
No way you were gonna pay a back up QB that kinda money.
You had to trade & try to recoup something for him after signing him to that huge mistake of a deal. At least you got good draft picks for it. But that was the Colts mistake.

He wasn't a backup QB. Eagles sold the HC job to Sirianni and other people they interviewed for HC as one where Wentz would be the QB for them. Wentz wanted out though. He did not want to stay with the Eagles if Howie Roseman would remain. Eagles chose Roseman over Wentz.

It was not a trade for cpa reasons. They took the largest cap hit in NFL history. There are exactly 0.0 reports out there that he was traded for cap reasons. There are numerous reports that they wanted to keep him but Wentz wanted out after he was benched and had no intention at all of returning to the team unless everyone that played a part in him being benched was fired.

Do not speak in things that you have no idea about.

Yes. He was losing his job the next year. (& his mind is too weak to compete for the job)

Of course, they had to say that, or no one would have traded for him. They would have waited for him to be cut.
They took the largest cap hit in NFL history.
Which they had no choice. It would have been even worse if they kept him as Hurts back up. Atleast this way you guys got some compensation in draft capital from him.

You have no idea what you're talking about. It wouldn't have been worse if they kept him, it would have been the same cap hit. They cut him at the worst possible point in his contract when you are talking about the cap hit that would be taken. He did not want to be on the team and was demanding a trade. He skipped his exit interview for the season and was over the Eagles organization. He made it clear that it's him or Howie and Lurie went with Howie.

Please understand that I'm speaking form a place of knowledge as a fan who had followed all of this with actual reports from the media. You're coming form a place of complete ignorance pulling shit out of your ass and making it up when there were absolutely no reports whatsoever to backup you're made up hypothesis.

the fact you cant comprehend keeping a hugely paid disgruntled player that would be playing back up would be worse, is all you need to know of your posts.
If you keep him one more year. Not only does the recovery from your cap hit extend out one more year. You lose all of your trade leverage. Since he wouldnt be traded as a starter. Now you would eliminate the one good thing you guys did. So it would have absolutely been worse if you didnt get rid of him when you did.
Please understand. One thing you are also forgetting. Lots of us were paying close attention to Wentz back then because we were constantly dealing with PE1 back then (until steelerpride broke him) :heh:

Hell even PE1 knew before he left. Wentz was done.

He wasn't going to be playing backup though. The Eagles wanted to keep Wentz and rebuild around him. He wanted no part of that because he had lost trust in the GM and felt disrespected by being benched in 2020.

They cut him at the point of the largest possible cap hit. There was an out on his contract later on that would have brought a smaller cap hit. He was full on demanding a trade.

Please understand that you have no clue at all what you are talking about. You cannot find a single report to back up anything you are claiming. You are writing pure fan fiction and treating it as reality when it's completely detached from what actually occurred.

Raiders really could be good if they even had average 1st round drafts...
The Josh Jacobs situation is curious to me. He's been a consistent producer in that offense. Chalking up the 5th yr being declined as nothing more than a new regime put in place and they want Jacobs to prove it.

Also have to admit I was very high on Ferrell in 2019.

I'm torn. Is Josh Jacobs an $8M per year player? Had under 900 yards last year and seemed to split carries for chunks of the year with guys like Drake, Barber, etc and didn't seem to hit his stride until Drake got hurt last year - which was great for my fantasy football team

IIRC his production per carry was still solid. Why they weren't using him more is beyond me. We should see what he's made of this year though.

to me. If you are not a 3 down back. Dont give a huge contract to them.

RBBC back that doesnt separate himself from the crowd. No I wouldnt pay 8 mil. for.
James Conner is making 7 mil & I definitely would take him over Jacobs. (is/was part of a RBBC)

I don't think you're supposed to use the "R" word.

Maybe a poll about forbidden words with suggested replacement word?
Please don't give him any ideas
