Didn't the Bills famously lose every preseason game during the era when they went to four straight Super Bowls? It's hard for fans to understand but sometimes the teams are not trying to win, they are looking at specific players in certain live situations and trying to decide who to keep.

Just got through that part of the book. They actually lost one game. Reeves was pissed that Jimmy got the Cowboys job instead of himself and played Elway the entire game. Elway threw a last minute TD to send it to OT and then Denver won in OT

i was with Reeves at that time. I loved the 1-15 season.

Yeah after watching Pickett that dude is not good at all. I can’t believe he was a first round draft pick. That arm is weak as shit.

Additionally, this should be a blessing in disguise for the Vikings. They weren’t winning shit this year anyway. They can now grab a top 5 draft pick.

I think you'd need an injury in practice to a team's starter or backup. If he can't beat out McKee for a backup spot, I don't know how much longer he has in the league.

I would think if anything, the Vikes would wait until Heineke get's cut and sign him as a back-up/ depth piece. He ain't much but definitely a better option than Pickett and probably better than Mullens too.

This is only one side of the story but if a coach is running down a player and calling him worthless that’s wrong on so many levels.

I don’t see Tua as “overly coddled” - I mean he played for Nick Saban, Saban isn’t one to “coddle” players. Flores just sounds like a total jackass, and I know Tua isn’t the only one to say negative things about him - several guys on the Dolphins had major issues with Flores.

Yeah, this is a huge red flag on Flores, IMO. The truth is that almost every coach in the Belichick tree is trailed by claims that they are shitbag human beings who beat people down instead of building them up. It's not worked for anyone either. Vrabel is the only successful coach and it sounds like he is much more of a players' coach than the others.
