That’s not an NFL arm in Pickett. I understand why the Steelers turned the page. Woof. Seems like a nice kid and a nice story out of S Jersey but if Hurts is hurt for 3-4 weeks or longer it has to be Tanner McKee.

Think it’s Tanner McKee. 6th round rookie out of Stanford drafted 2023 draft. He’s shown well in 2 preseason seasons in a row. He always seems to get the 2nd half of these preseason games though.

The truth is that the Eagles need to keep Hurts healthy. This isn’t a good QB situation if Hurts goes down.

Tanner McKee is way better. Sixth rounder out of Stanford last year. Bigger kid. Way stronger arm. Reads the field way better. He’s a statue but otherwise he’s far superior.

It’s pretty obvious Sirianni has a tough call to make but for now he told reporters after the game the pecking order hadn’t changed behind Hurts. He apparently tried to couch it though!

The Eagles had a dominant regular season that year, but with Wentz hurt teams were trying to manoeuvre into the #4 seed to play against them. The Eagles won 2 of the 3 playoff games by narrow margins. I wouldn't say they were lucky, (unlike the lucky Rams in 2021), but it's not a team history will remember.

Grier didn't look NFL quality last night. He probably won't even be on a PS in Week 1.

Yeah Grier is basically QB4. He is more like a coach on the field who gets a few snaps but there is no expectation he will make the roster, he is basically a Kellen Moore offense tutor for the other QBs.

McKee is a 24 year old kid who did a Mormon mission for a few years before going to Stanford. He was pretty good as a rookie in last year's preseason too. I feel bad for him because he has been stuck at #3 behind guys like Pickett and Mariotta who are bigger names, but he is clearly better than those guys.

random thought:
as many players that hardly play PS snaps, the first three weeks seem to have a larger number of season ending injuries. For many teams the first quarter makes survival of the up most importance.
