It's the way of the World and frankly the NFL is late to the party. Most sports pull starters in meaningless last day games. This would still happen if the NFL only played 12 games. Better to have 16 live games and 1 imitation rather than 11 live games and 1 imitation.

All but 3 on that list are playing out of necessity. And would have been playing no matter if the game was meaningful so I don't see that as much.

No. With 12 games, it would happen 25% less often just because of the way the math works. Due to less spread between teams.

Also less time for QBs to get injured. There were more starting QBs in week 3 than week 16. But you should know that.
