They aren't picking 2022 Chubb up off the streets, he's 30 and destroyed his knee 2yrs ago.

Looks like the rookie they drafted isn't any good or they wouldn't be bringing Chubb in for backup duties
So an overreaction to send the 2.10 for a handcuff in dynasty?

Personally, I wouldn't be buying 30yr old Chubb, but if you're trying to cuff Mixon, late 2nd isn't lopsided. I was out 2yrs ago when this would be the first fully recovered season for him.

I view cuff RBs without any standalone value around 3rd rd pick value. If they get enough touches or show some pop, late 2nd is absolute highest id go. Can't argue Texans RB TD potential tho, so if you think hes taking RZ snaps from Mixon, easy to do the deal.

Today's nfl not a slam dunk that the backup becomes the unquestioned workhorse when RB1 goes down. Just another thing to consider when buying cuffs

But what about Damon Pierce??

19 for 176 in week 18 last year..
That's almost as many carries he had weeks 1-17..

The threat to me is the workload. With a decent RB2, Mixon is probably taking a hit from his 75% snaps, 20+ carries a game workload

well he did miss four weeks with a hammy, and 2 more with a groin issue.

besides, Joe Mixon ripping off a combined 4.7 yards every time he touches the ball, why would you give Peirce the rock?

I'm no fan of Pierce, his rookie season was a fluke imho, but he's a perfectly fine back up RB. At least good enough that you don't need a pedigree like Nick Chubb to come in and take his job. (assuming Chubb can)

Mixon will hit 2K carries this season if he's fantasy relevant, and the Texans have an out after this season. I think Woody Marks is a solid football player but won't ever be a starting RB unless circumstances force it. Chubb is as likely to be the Texans starter in 2026 (re-signing and healthy) as Mixon is IMO.

Dont know who wrote the article, but someone did a deep dive on RB to discover that the magic number where they start declining (should they get that far in their careers) was 1800 carries. Not good after that.

Was nicely researched over a decade. I wholeheartedly subscribe to the "1800 rule."

Derrick Henry Idk GIF by Tennessee Titans

King Henry season avgs the last 2 seasons, AFTER going over 1800 carries:

347 touches
1679 rush yds
203.5 rec yds
16.5 TDs
(Includes playoff stats)

What an absolute freak

Well, there were exceptions. At the time of the writing, i believe Adrian Peterson was still chugging. But Sean Alexander and others were pretty much in step with a decline.

And you'd have to admit, King Henry wasnt exactly a first round pick the last season or 2 most likely because owners were anticipating a decline.

Do you see Mixon in the same mold as AP or King Henry? I dont.

This is a moderately interesting little tidbit, especially given the black hole of receiving talent behind the TE's in Vegas (and no I don't consider J. Meyers to have an abundance of 'talent'

ESPN’s Ryan McFadden says rookie WR Jack Bech has seen “the majority of his reps” with the second-team offense.
Perhaps more notable is that McFadden also adds that rookie fourth-rounder Dont’e Thornton “has spent a good amount of time with the first-team offense.” Bech was drafted 58th overall by the Raiders this offseason after finally breaking out in his fourth collegiate season, and second with TCU. Thornton, who was selected 108th overall, brings tremendous size (6-foot-5) to the offense, and per McFadden, is expected “to provide vertical juice to the offense.” It’s only minicamp, but Thornton playing ahead of Bech is still notable given the draft capital between the two. While Bech could eventually earn more first team reps, his late college breakout that was precluded by three forgettable seasons may have foreshadowed a player who will need some time to acclimate to the pro game.

“Precluded”? Think he meant “preceded.”

Good analysis, though.

Cleveland’s Alex Darus reports that Shedeur Sanders’ Tuesday citation for 101 MPH occurred hours after Sanders failed to appear in court for another speeding ticket issued less than 2 weeks prior.
This is not the type of update we were hoping for. Sanders’ consecutive speeding violations are issues of their own. His failure to appear in court creates more concerns. If Sanders is unwilling to handle himself professionally and respectfully, both on and off the field, it will be difficult for a franchise to trust him. This is doubly true for a Browns organization that is ostensibly seeking a fresh start following the Deshaun Watson era.

So 2 big speeding tickets, and a failure to appear- which had the 'failure to appear' been processed into the system by the time he got the 2nd speeding ticket, would've been an automatic arrest on the bench warrant for the failure to appear.

And the Shaduer truthers want us to believe that his 'character' issues were just being overblown

Browns get over the Johnny Football debacle...

"Let's make a huge move for Watson, hell, we could even give him an unprecedented quarter billion guaranteed contract. That will surely fix our franchise"

Browns starting to get over the Watson debacle...

"Let's draft the totally regular sized QB guy from Oregon and the extremely humble guy from Colorado. One of them will surely fix out franchise"
