Love the $ = playing time argument.

Once games matter, that goes out the window, always has.
We can go down memory lane and list all the highly drafted players who were usurped by a later round pick or udfa. We can revisit the Miles Sanders, Leveon Bell type free agent deals, but you know all those.

Draft Capitol, money, all it does is guarantee more chances than those who were paid less/ drafted lower.

And the dude just below him on that pay scale? Why is every one convinced he's going to be in a time share? If pay scale dictates PT, Pollard doesn't have to worry about Spears, there's only 7 RB in the league paid more than him.

Swifts history suggests he's nothing more than a committee back. His committee in Philly was with the QB... shockingly, that's the only place he's had real success- with a running QB. I don't think Caleb Williams 3.3 ypc in college suggests he's going to be helping out much.

Keep the faith, by all means.

But it's a bigger leap to assume he's got this backfield in lock down, than it is to assume it'll be a 2-3 man rotation
He’s going to play.

Surprised he even dressed.

Pointless that he did.

would be great if someone leaked some deets as to the deal. I don't care about the contract offers- who's moving teams? Considering both the Patriots and Browns deal reportedly involved WR's..would Pickens be on the move?? Surely at the very least, Calvin Austin would be if its not Pickens??

I'm sure we'll get the full story (accurate or not) from multiple source over the next couple of days. ...... from a weather and team talent level the choice would be a no brainer (for me) - even if it's for a bit less $$. ....

I seriously don't get the Aiyuk love at all.

I see his ADP on certain sites over Deebo.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Lot of wear and tear on Deebo’s body.

Aiyuk has had more receiving yards than Deebo in 3 out of his 4 seasons. Kinda relying on/hoping for rushing output, especially TDs.

I heard from the local radio talking heads that he was directed specifically by the coaching staff not to duck and run, but to throw the ball.

They wanted to see what he has. I didn't see the game except for the last 2 minutes, but I guess by throwing the ball 41 times, he met that criteria.

188 yards? Well yeah, needs a little work there. ;)
Lance looks like he shook off some rust. The idea of him as the post-Dak starter is alive.

I feel like he could end up with a version of Jordan Love's path. Not betting on it, but it seems possible.

I have not watched a single snap of any preseason games to date.

You just said on another thread that these preseason games are essentially glorified joint-practices, with many teams sitting their starters.

Really dont think i missed much.

Oh I dunno that I said those words exactly. There is info to be gleened from preseason games, no doubt. It all just needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but info none the less. I don't think you can draw any 'absolutes' from preseason, but you can gather some darned good assumptions

Not sure i agree with that since most preseason offenses are historically vanilla. No HC or OC wants to tip their hand.

Reports out of camps have been more revealing as to usage, reps, etc.

I'm proud to say my 2020 NFL TV game boycott is still alive and well. Only follow on games on the computer. ... between the online analysis while watching lines move side to side with instant stats, plus the narratives posted here - just don't feel I've missed a thing .... .
