1) make a real, honest, assessment on the current score of the games involved with players from MNF. If you can't make a realistic case that a comeback was in the making, give the current winner the game. You have to award a champion, imo, with the stats we have + a realistic forecast of the Buf/Cin players.
2) let the managers involved decide what to do with any prize money involved
You gonna add fake points to someone's score??

No way. Guys get hurt. Games end early. Guys kneel at the goaline.

Not just singling you out, feels like everyone wants to do something fake with this game instead of just taking it at face value. Game final was 7-3 after 8.5 real minutes of real football. Burrow really threw that touchdown. Singletary really had 3 yards. Tally it up.

Yeah, in my other dynasty league we are discussing several options.

But the more i think about it (and i know this will not be popular), but if the game will not be made up, then the reality is that the players that were in the lineups are gonna have be taken at face value.

Fantasy owners have no control over play calls, in-game injuries, weather conditions, usage and the like. If a game gets cancelled, it may be a hard pill to swallow but thats how the chips fell, just like any other game that you cannot predict.
There's only like 5% of us that get this. Probably less.

It might be hard to argue that, but this incident is unprecedented so having that unprecedented situation carry over into fantasy isn’t hard to see.

Losing Jonathan Taylor after one carry due to injury isn’t the same as a cancelled game involving multiple players.

I thankfully didn't have any issues, games were clearly in hand where I'm commish so no one worried about it or non-important 3rd place games where teams just splitting the pot cause scores were close

Crazy twist of events, but I'd be OK with any league vote/commish decision with this ppd game

Well, both sites I'm talking about just have a hold on everything until the NFL makes a decision - but they already have for week 17 - - there is no week 17 for BUF-CIN unless it happens in week 19 (but only 'if necessary').
From the NFL's perspective it would be the continuation of the Week 17 game, I believe. It would not be a new Week 19 game. FF leagues should always use official NFL stats unless it's impossible.

IMO this is an easy call unless you're in a league where Week 17 games decide what happens in later weeks (like @Sam Sportboy's Way Too Long league).

Perhaps I'm just making too much of it but I do have 2 championship game hinging on the outcome. The main thing that concerns me is a week 18 injury that affect the week 17 outcome (whereas there was no concern going in..

and that's part of the kicker to that possible solution. guys that weren't injured, may very well be. Guys who were injured, might not be, the entire matchup could change. Heck, the Bills will now be, at the very least, down a starting DB, Burrows, Chase and Higgins all have better matchups in a rescheduled game than they did last week. That alone changes things, even if ever so slightly.
And just because something major may not be the case THIS time, next time something comes up, maybe it is, and now you've just set precedent.

Another possible scenario that is bad juju for extending things out hoping for a resolution--
Week 18 results in the Bengals being eliminated from any possible shot at #1 seed and are locked into, at best, the #3, and decide to rest Burrows, Chase and Co. in the rescheduled Buffalo matchup...you're screwed, but your opponent may have BIlls who are playing for the #1 spot, or vice versa.
Maybe Buffalo has lost the shot at the #1 seed and decides to do the same with their guys. In reality there's still the #2 seed to play for most likely in that last scenario, but maybe not..who knows what week 18 brings.

To me, the only logical solution is just to accept that week 17 is done and in the books, leagues with title games in week 17 are over, and the trophy is sent to the engravers. Other leagues that final in week 18, set their matchups accordingly and move on to the finals

Only way to do it. Burrow gets a touchdown and we all just saw the shortest game ever.

IN THE EVENT OF A BILLS-BENGALS GAME CANCELLATION

  • If the game is declared final by the NFL and scored as is (meaning the score is finalized as 7-3), all fantasy points will remain as is.
  • If the game is canceled and stats are zeroed out by the NFL, all fantasy points accumulated in the Bills-Bengals game will be zeroed out to reflect the official record.

Saw an announcement that someone in the NFL brass said it would be insensitive to replay the BUF-CIN game.

What?
Some years ago, I lost a coworker when he died of a heart attack while shoveling snow. Our place of employment expected all of us (except family) to report to work the next day.

And i might add, we didnt make millions either. (But thats another greivance.)

most of this has been reactionary... if it is insensitive to play then buffalo should end their season now... but nobody is saying that the patriots bills game shouldnt happen... i dont see the difference...

Is that from the same site?

What if he died on the job, using the copier, instead of shoveling? Falls, hits his head and bleeds out right there. Would they have had you standing in the blood stain making copies the next day?

I've been in some middle management positions in the past, I think the go-to move here would be to nudge the copy machine or table that it is on over a few feet to cover up the stain.

The Real Answer
I worked for a Fortune 500 company. So yes, you were expected to work regardless of the situation. In fact, the running joke at work was that a death certificate was not an excuse to miss a day of work.

The Funny Answer
If that was the way he would have died, the department he worked in would have found a way to save on a toner cartridge if his blood was available.

The Deeper Answer
I am not trying to be cold or hard-hearted. And i admit there probably is no solution where the NFL does not take some criticism. At least for me, they more or less trampled on all of the working stiffs who shell out big money to go to NFL games and in the process showed "compassion" for the millionaires who would have had to work. I applaud the sentiment and the effort but they catered more to the "priviledged" players imo.
