I think the Rams need LB way before the 7th round. Depth at OL is always a good idea, but how many rookies do you want to add at once? Ideally, the Rams would add a very good OG via the draft or free agency, re-sign Barksdale at RT, and start Jones at C. Adding multiple linemen in the early stages of the draft to play OG and RT is not typically good value. OG at #10 is a stretch; Rams should trade down in the first if that's their plan IMO.

mtr, there is not a LB in your picks. We'd have to sacrifice one of those O-line picks for a LB.

I agree we need a linebacker for sure. Figured we could get one in FA in this scenario

OG at 10 is to high, but we're an awful organization and we just drafted one 2nd overall last year.... Because lets be honest, he's going to be our OG long term.

How about this... fairly realistic as I traded down twice in round 2 and got 2 extra 3rd rounders:

Your score is: 5085 (GRADE: A-)

Your Picks:

Round 1 Pick 10: Cedric Ogbuehi, OT, Texas A&M (A)
Round 2 Pick 26 (IND): Reese Dismukes, C, Auburn (A)
Round 3 Pick 10: Geneo Grissom, OLB, Oklahoma (B+)
Round 3 Pick 20 (PHI): Kurtis Drummond, FS, Michigan State (A)
Round 3 Pick 26 (IND): Bryce Petty, QB, Baylor (A)
Round 5 Pick 10: John Miller, OG, Louisville (B+)
Round 7 Pick 30: Rannell Hall, WR, UCF (A)

That's another good scenario Commish. And I must have missed the DT selection in mtrCougar's draft. You are correct. Sacrifice the DT pick in mtrCougar's draft for a LB. I stand corrected from the Commish!

And of course if we resign Barksdale and sign someone like Iupati or Carpenter, then maybe you look at a top WR or CB with the first pick and draft a depth OT in round 5 or 7.

Commish, we also have some pretty decent O-lineman on the PS that some believe to be up-and-comers. I speaking of Travis Bond, who has 3 years of pro experience at 6-6, 330lbs and Steven Baker who is a true Tackle at 6-8, 325lbs. If our draft needs require a couple of LBs, a CB, and RB and we have to sacrifice an O-lineman, one or both of these guys with Boudreau's tuteledge could easily be pretty darn good. Just another option available.

The only WR we should consider in the 1st is Cooper, unless we trade back

Yea I think our WR needs are complete. WR is way down on the list.

Agreed... If we are sitting at #10 and we have resigned Barksdale and signed Iupati, only WR I take is Cooper. Obviously if Shaq Thompson is there we take him. My wildcard in all of this is Shane Ray. Pinkel thinks he can play OLB in a 4-3. I, for one, would have no issue with that pick at #10. Waynes is the only CB I take at #10. So, that said, if we have fortified the o line via free agency, I predict we will trade down.

I personally would rather have a depth WR later to replace Givens...just saying

Yea, I agree. Givens is done. Cooper is the only guy worth a ten spot pick. If we get Iupati, that would be a great addition and would limit our selection of O-lineman to say Dismukes and maybe Ogbuehi.

Exactly, if we get Iupati I still say get Dismukes in the 2nd round to play Center. I mean we can still use the 1st on an O linemen as well, but I think we will get better value looking at a pass rushing OLB or CB.

I agree Commish. You and SJ76 should beat on the Rams FO door and tell them to let you guys in as assistants to Snead. They could absolutely use both of your suggestions and your eyes for talent. Man that would be totally cool!!

I don't think WR is a huge need, but I think Cooper changes our team. As far as replacing Givens, I understand, I like Diggs who we can get later in the draft out of Maryland, will fall because of an injury but I think he's a good player.

Also - can we please admit that Kenny Brit helpped our WR game big time, and that we don't know how he'll be next season... so there is question marks

I am about as close as I can get being friends with Jim Thomas from the STL Post Dispatch. He loves to listen to me ramble on. Snead actually retweeted something I tweeted to Jim about Dismukes!!

Yea I know I remember you stating awhile back that you had worked your way into the media hiearchy for the Rams so maybe if you keep "rambling on", they might eventually listen to you and do the better thing here. Dismukes is too big, nasty, and talented to pass him by. Same goes for Iupati. So keep pounding the rock Commish. The Rams can use all the help they can garner.:yahoo:
