Construction on LA Rams stadium delayed due to El Nino

It’s not often the weather plays a negative role in Los Angeles.

But apparently there is a first for everything.

The hope was construction on the Rams’ new stadium in Inglewood would begin immediately after they were approved for relocation from St. Louis to Los Angeles. And while they were granted relocation to L.A. in January by fellow NFL owners, construction work has yet to begin in Inglewood.

You can thank El Nino for the delay.

According to Inglewood Mayor James Butts, stadium developers are taking a cautious approach with the construction timeline due to the expected heavy rains.

“We are concerned that El Nino will catch us if it manifests itself in SoCal,” Mayor Butts said in a text. “Cautiously, the developers are waiting until there is certainty the rain season is over.

“Excavation for the stadium is scheduled for August 1.”

The Rams have not set a starting date for actual construction on the stadium, but the venue is still scheduled to open in 2019. The Rams will play at the Coliseum in the interim, beginning in the 2016 season.

Rams uniforms are great now. Maybe tweak them a little. The 64-72 would be good for throwbacks as well as the 73-99. But with the 73-99 uniforms I like the navy blue and the lighter shade of yellow of the late 70's they used. Don't like the Royal blue with the darker yellow they use now for throwbacks.

Since Tree was hurt most of this past season, what is our "just in case" replacement? You see, this is what drives me crazy about this coaching staff. Not only do we NOT have a replacement for Tree(just in case) at MLB, but we don't have a replacement for his (former)starting OLB position, nor does it sound like Fisher is very concerned about it...

I agree LTRF. Sometimes Fisher infuriates the hell out me with his nonchalance, willy-nilly, piece-it-together, shoot-from-the-hip-and-fix-it-later attitude and approach. This is why we will never been better than 500 under this guy because oft times he is simply clueless as to what to do.
