The benefits of wearing a compression sleeve after ACL reconstruction.

Abstract
PURPOSE:
It was the purpose of the present study to examine the possibility of increased muscle coordination after anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction through the wearing of a compression sleeve.

METHODS:
Thirty-six patients were studied who had undergone unilateral ACL reconstruction at least 12 months previously. All subjects were required to perform a 10-cm standing drop jump from an elevated platform onto a force plate, to land on one leg, and thereafter maintain a one-legged balance for 25 s. This task was repeated three times without and three times with an elastic compression sleeve worn on the reconstructed limb. For analysis, the task was partitioned into a landing phase (150 ms), an adjusting phase (10s), and a balancing phase (10s). The peak impact loadings were measured in each direction (Fx, Fy, and Fz) during landing, while force-time integrals (intFz, intFy, and intFz) and root mean square (RMS) error of these forces were calculated for the adjusting and balancing phases. The path length and RMS of the center of pressure coordinates (Ax and Ay) were obtained for the adjusting and balancing phases combined.

RESULTS:
Drop landings with the bandage produced significantly larger (P < 0.001) peak ground reaction forces in the vertical and anteroposterior direction, suggesting increased subject confidence in their knee. Wearing the knee bandage also enabled the patients to reduce all measured parameters in the anteroposterior direction (rmsFx, intFx, rmsAx) during both the adjusting and balancing phases (P < 0.001 ). A significant reduction in the center of pressure path length further indicated an enhanced steadiness during the one-legged stance.

CONCLUSIONS:
It was concluded that a compression sleeve improved the total integration of the balance control system and muscle coordination.

And since these teams have the BEST of the BEST doctors working for them, these guys do EXACTLY as told...

Yep I saw that study Vita and the conclusion is about how to control sudden energy dissipation through the athletes mind and the various vertices of the joint such as vertical and anteroposterior axes that must dissipate energy over the reconstructed joint during the three phases studied. It looks like the compression sleeve allowed for increased peak ground reaction forces while reducing the anteroposterior dissipation of energy providing a rather quick confidence enhancement to the athlete because of it. Pretty cool stuff.

Picture looks suspiciously like Gurley is holding some leafy green...

From ED's reaction, it looks to me as if TG is describing this moment.

"And then Clay jumps up Eric, and I hit 'em with the left like this, and toss 'em on his head"

Rams running back Tre Mason reportedly arrested on drug, traffic charges

Rams running back Tre Mason reportedly faces several traffic and drug-related charges after being arrested Saturday in Hollywood, Fla.

According to a report Sunday afternoon by WPLG Channel 10 in Miami/Fort Lauderdale, Mason was arrested Saturday by Hollywood, Fla., police. The station reported Mason has been charged with resisting arrest, possession of cannabis, reckless driving and failure to register a motor vehicle.

Mason was taken to a local hospital following his arrest. His condition is unknown.

Drafted by the Rams out of Auburn in the third round of the 2014 NFL Draft, Mason has started 12 games in his two NFL seasons, rushing for 972 yards and five touchdowns.

Rams' Tre Mason Subdued by Stun Gun During Arrest
Los Angeles Rams running back Tre Mason was subdued with a stun gun twice when he refused to cooperate with officers who were arresting him in South Florida for reckless driving and marijuana possession, police in Hollywood, Florida, said Sunday.

Mason refused orders to get out of his Porsche sports car Saturday afternoon after he was pulled over for going more than twice the speed limit in a 35-mile-per-hour zone along a beachside road, according to a police report released by the Hollywood Police Department.

Mason refused to give the patrol officer his name or provide identification, and the officer smelled marijuana in the car.

"I warned the defendant if he did not identify himself he would be subject to arrest and he smirked as he was making eye contact," Officer Lester Cochenour wrote in his report.

The officer called for backup and warned Mason he would be arrested if he didn't provide identification, the report said.

Cochenour told Mason he was under arrest. When the officer attempted to removed Mason from the car by taking his left arm, Mason braced himself against the car's floor, seat and steering wheel. Another officer joined the effort to get Mason out of the car, but he still resisted, according to the police report.

"The defendant was warned several times in a composed voice to stop resisting, exit the vehicle and if he did not comply with arrest, a Taser would be used," the officer wrote in the report.

A third officer arrived, and when another effort failed to remove him, Mason was stunned on his torso with a Taser. He was stunned again outside the vehicle in his pelvis when he refused to put his hands behind his back as ordered, the report said.

Mason was then taken to a hospital for medical clearance since he had been stunned. While he was there, bond was posted for him so he was released from police custody and never had to go to jail, said Jaime Hernandez, spokesman for the Hollywood Police Department. Hernandez did not immediately know how much Mason's bail was.

Mason is charged with resisting arrest without violence, reckless driving, possessing less than 20 grams of cannabis and failure to register a vehicle.

Mason recorded the police stop on his phone, according to the police report.

Court records listed no attorney for him, and a call to Mason's agent wasn't immediately returned.

Mason, 22, has a home in Delray Beach and went to high school in nearby Lake Worth.

He was drafted by the Rams out of Auburn University in 2014. He has played two seasons for the Rams, who are relocating from St. Louis to Los Angeles.

Unbelievable! Wasn't he one of the ones that was supporting the "Black Lives Matter" or "Don't Shoot" campaign in St Louis? Article above states that he video taped the whole arrest with his phone! Interesting! Dump his ass now!

Typically correct, maybe he hadn't smoked it yet (or he normally drives 100 in a 35?)
