They paid too much for Floyd but it is what it is. The whiners got snookered by Ebukam. Another dog shit player gone.
Everett is gone and so is Blythe. Johnson is going for the money and I suppose we will be fine. He is the most likely to washout in Cleveland like many other ex-Rams were traded or left in FA. McQuaide signs with the Caboys following Fassel. They can have that dude. We got a younger, bigger version on the PS.

We talked to the Center Meinerz again and Asante Samuels from FSU. Can always go after more talent in the secondary. Both would be great picks.

A lot of teams are using the signing bonus or roster bonus as two options to continue to retain and pay players with big contracts the difference of what the original deal was and what the re-structured deal numbers are. The signing/roster bonus does not count against the cap so it is a favorable way to keep players while making cap room. It does not have to be announced but must be reported to the league office. I suspect the Rams are doing this as well.

With the re-structuring, most teams back-end the salary payment of the original contract numbers at the end of the contract. It is a sneaky way to not really pay a player the full legal amount of the contract because many players are cut before the contract expires especially as the player ages. This has been a major gripe of the players union dating way back. But it is what it is and everyone continues forward as to not kill the golden goose or so they all think!

We lose Derek Rivers to the Texans. A so-so player we claimed off the Patriots PS last year. He was a potential type player. We were hoping. Word is Morgan Fox will re-sign with the Rams but this is not written in stone. Also, Whitworth re-structured his contract and than means he'll return for another season.

From this article

“And by restructuring, the Rams are essentially kicking the can down the road. With the salary cap likely to increase again in future years, potentially even spiking in a huge way thanks to the league’s upcoming TV deals, the Rams shouldn’t feel much pain from making these moves.

The increasing cap will cover the cost of these restructures, thus easing the pain that might be felt in future years by increasing the cap hits of key players such as Donald, Ramsey, Woods and Kupp.”

If you are in the market for a pro bowl Center and the Rams are, this is the guy you should try to sign. Rodney Hudson. Stud personified.

he can go, we aren't going to miss him. As a matter of fact i didn't ever hear his name called on sunday anyway. It's time to rid the team of useless LB's.
