If we re-sign Joyner and tag Sammy, we will have some serious cash to extend AD and sign our own FAs, many of whom McVay wants to keep. Then I see us going after Vea or one of the corners in the draft.

fuck yeah! a #1 shut down corner who is better than Tru.....maybe our DBs won't play 10 yards off the WR for fear of getting burned. Hopefully we can keep Joyner and Tru, and find a way to pay Donald. We need some stud LBs.

Rams add another player they’ll eventually have to pay (or lose)

I found this interesting. The Rams are going for broke if you agree with this link. Consistent winning cures everything, they may not be able to keep all of the talent they are seeking but winning attracts talent. Players want to play for a winner and the Rams will be a winner.
One day soon they will fill their new stadium and be the most sought after ticket in LA. :thumb:

He better be worth those draft picks, although i dont understand how it helps with cap space, he will probably demand more money at some point

He is signed for $1.7 next year with an option for the following year at $9.5. This is for a true #1 CB. Tru made $16.7 last year. They get 2 years bargain and can then sign to long term.

The latest I'm hearing is we gave up our #4 this year and #2 next year and receive Peters and a #6 this year!

Told you it had to involve a 1st or 2nd next year.

No way the chiefs were letting him go for less.

Now, the Rams are minus a 2nd and 4th this year. Gotta believe,Rams will be looking to trade down in the 1st, and maybe even 3rd to recoup some of those picks.

And I have,a feeling the Rams will overpay to keep Watkins considering what they have invested in him. He's not worth 10M+ but That's probably what they will pay him. He's not worth more than Woods who outperformed him all season.

Not really a fair comparison, as Watkins came in late and got the coverage rolled his way, while Woods had all preseason to work with Goff and the offense and benefited from Watkins drawing coverage away from him.

Hopefully we get to see Watkins next season with a full offseason with the team under his belt (and at a reasonable cap number, of course).

I agree 100% ALR, The good news is Watkins wants to stay in LA. He likes the Rams org and the coaching staff. So hopefully they can convince him to stay in LA for less than 10M.
Although from what I hear 10M will come up a little short in LA for a movie with popcorn and dinner for two on Sunset Ave. lol

If we could work a deal and trade-up to get this guy, he would really help our sometimes porous run defense especially between the guards.

Why do you all want to keep Tru? We've got a shutdown CB. Give that cash to some thumper LBs and Oline help.

Draft some DBs and Dline. Sign Donald and Watkins. Joyner?? I love me some FSU DBs but look what the safety Johnson did in his rookie year.

Lol Trey Marshall in the 4th or 5th round please

And you have to sign Sammy W. 1) we gave up a good CB and a 2nd rounder, 2) he makes our WR core really good. Without him? We average and we go back to having no #1 WR who takes away the opposing #1 CB for the majority of the game.

Tag Sammy if you don't like him and see if Kupp goes off next year but I don't know if he's #1 WR material

Goff needs to throw deep more and pull the trigger with Sammy too. It ain't all Sammy
