Traded 2 #1, 2 #2 , a 3rd for a 4th and a 6th and the #1 overall pick.

Snead and Fisher are blowing their wad. They do have a lot of other pieces so it may work.

How does this affect the Broncos? I think it is unlikely that the 9ers, unless they move up into the #2 spot, will get a QB in round one - and means they are more likely to keep Kap.

I'm wrong pretty often, so you might want to bet on the opposite happening.

If Rams take the guy Cleveland coveted then we could see another trade for the number 2 qb possibly involving SF or Eagles also. Lynch could come off much sooner now too. Crazy.

Lets see what happens at #2 first. Insane trade I think teams panic do these blockbuster trades ever work.

I think it's practically guaranteed to be a QB. If the Browns stay put, they will draft one. If they don't want one of the top two, then I think they trade down to 7 with SF or 8 with Eagles.

I could see if this year had an Andrew Luck in it, but from everything I'm reading, this year is truly a crap shoot from the qb position. Rams mortgaged their future on that? Dumb move imo.

I love being disagreeable! I think it was the right move for the Rams. They actually gave up much less than they received in the blockbuster deal a few years ago - and moved up further in the draft.

I would say the way this might affect the Broncos is that not only will Lynch move up but we could see Cook move up further into the 1st making it where we can't just stay at our pick and get him now. Seems like with QB's teams panic quite a bit.

Please Lord, have someone else pick Cook before we can be tempted.
Amen.

Uh oh see I prayed the opposite earlier. This could get awkward.

Cook has been growing on me as well. Doesn't hurt that he got a good endorsement from Gruden. Last person I remember Gruden saying would be a great QB like he has with Cook was Russell Wilson

Yeah I just got done watching the Gruden Camp and thought Cook was well spoken throughout the thing and did everything asked of him. I think 2 things keep him from being the top pick in this draft...1) The whole not being a full-time captain thing. People have to remember the offensive captain though was the Center for the past 2 years who is an All-American player. So not like the team didn't have leadership beyond just Cook. 2) Accuracy. The being below 60% accuracy is a concern. I view it though that he wasn't a guy that padded his stats with all the check down throws that you see so often. He was a guy throwing down field quite a bit which is why he ended up having the best deep ball accuracy of any QB in college football. I feel like the short throws can be worked on. Most guys though if they struggle with the deep ball it is hard for them to improve. I mean look at Tom Brady. Other than his great season with Randy Moss he has been a terrible down field thrower.

That's very true on Brady. That guy is the dink and dump champion.:)

Its the right move IF it pans out. Of course the Rams are the Arizona Cards of a few years ago. Loaded with talent but, don't do anything with it. Great LA PR thing that's what they wanted.

How did that trade workout for either team? You take a big risk on these types of moves. It is not just that you are still looking for a QB but you now have few picks to replace FA talent as it leaves. You have to be 100% sold that this will workout.

Like I said in another post, I think the last time this worked was the Julio Jones trade and I am not sure they couldn't find someone else that could provide close to the same and use those picks on other positions.

I like Cook a heck of a lot more than Lynch

I don't want anything to do with Paxton Lynch - besides the fact that he can't hit the broadside of the barn, he looks like the unfortunate offspring of a Brock Osweiler / Kyle Orton lovefest

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is an image I do not want in my head

If I was a Rams fan - I'd say this is Sam Bradford all over again - only with more draft picks involved. The Rammies move to SoCal and stumble out of the blocks - a panic move.

If YOU were a Rams fan...

You would have already made hotel reservations for the Super Bowl. For the next 5 years!
