LOL. Didn't he fail in Denver?
Tremendously. But I guess the Raiders are hoping he’s matured in the last 12 years.
I know he is hated mostly for that he was a part of Patriots, but he drafted pretty well. He was fired 12 games into 2nd year, which was BS anyway.
but he drafted pretty well.
No big deal, he only traded Earl Thomas for him.Two words: Alphonso. Smith.
He also took over an offense that ranked at or near top 10 in almost all categories and dumped the players for picks so he could have "his guys". The offense did not really recover, and the win record in year 1 was propped up by a defense that went from bottom of the league to middle of the pack. He got fired when his offense continued to be mediocre and the Defense cratered to the worst in the league.
I also don't think the issue with McDaniels was his ability, it was 100% his ego. He was not mentally ready for it and it showed. If he has grown and been humbled by his last tenure he could be an absolutely fantastic hire.I am not saying he was all world, but look at BB early round drafts and then tell me how bad Josh did. I dont even like him, but I am even keeled and rational enough to see he did not do a terrible job
He escaped Denver and got hired by the Patriots! That isn't what I'd call failure.....LOL. Didn't he fail in Denver?

Von miller, eric decker and a couple of linemen that hung around for a whileNot sure if serious (coughTebowcough). He did draft Demaryius and Beadles, so two notable players out of 2 drafts (and 1 out of 4 firsts). His drafting input for the Rams was questionable at best too (Kendricks, Pettis, Salas).
He was fired largely for not getting along with the rest of the front office from what I've heard. As far as growing up over the last 12 years, not so sure that has happened; he did just leave the Colts in a lurch after agreeing to take their coaching job.
