There are really some bad QB's in the league and it is amazing how bad the level of play has gotten. For example Ill show you 3 exapmles of first time starters in the league and you tell me if ANY of these first round guys has any potential to REALLY exceed in this league.

QB A) 47.5% completion, 1663 yards, 7 TD's- 14 INT's, 6.4 yards per attempt, 54.9 QB rating, 218 yards rushing

QB B) 46.5% completion, 1729 yards, 12 TD's- 6 INT's, 6.4 yards per attempt, 70.9 QB rating, 225 yards rushing

QB C) 52.6% completion, 1498 yards, 9 TD's- 10 INT's, 7.4 yards per attempt, 74 QB rating, 93 yards rushing

- THIS^^^^ is how abysmal the level of play at the QB position has gotten

I get the feeling you're shilling for a certain player with initials TT?

There's a difference between not understanding an NFL offense well enough to be successful yet and not having close to the physical tools for it to matter if you can run an offense.

A simple answer to the question posed will suffice. Sample size is the same. Just looking for which guy ( based off the numbers) would inspire confidence for you moving forward....

Jamarcus had the tools, but not the drive. The drive is obviously important, but there is a certain skill level you have to have to be successful, and without it it doesn't matter if you are the most driven person in the history of the world. If you can't throw you can't be a QB. That doesn't mean if you can you are automatically a QB.

Vick's career was less than spectacular, but he was limited by the talent around him. I would rather have him running a 6.0 40 than tebow with the ability to stop time, make his decision, then start it back up and make the play.

Numbers only go so far. You have to be able to look at someone and see they can play, too.

Im sorry man I just dont agree. Tebow wins. Period. He won titles in HS, titles in college and won the divsion and a playoff game the one year he got his shot in the NFL. You can tell me he cant play all you want to but you dont win everywhere you have been unless you can play ( and by play I mean MAKE plays to win games, not throw 70 yards from your knees wearing shorts and no shirt)

As an FYI the other 2 guys ( A and C) are John Elway and Johnny Unitas and their first year numbers. ( where they both lost MORE games than they won unlike Tebow who won his division and a playoff game)

So the sample size of his stats is too small, but the sample size of his wins isn't?

Watch him play. Any GM who signs him should never get a job again.

IF he had only won in HS OR college OR the NFL then I could see your argument about the sample size of wins being small but he has won EVERYWHERE. At what point do we forget about the asthetics and worry about the results?? Maybe the answer to that for some people is never. I for one have never cared how you look getting the job done, only that it gets done.

You will never hear me bashing Tebow. But no one does these comparisons with RBs. Because they are just dumb (not calling you Anything).

Based off these guys first two years who would you want or think is going to be great and who was a flash in the pan?

Guy A
1 - 284 Carries - 1,011 Yards - 3.6YPC - 7 TDs
2 - 332 Carries - 1,207 Yards - 3.6YPC - 11 TDs

Guy B
1 - 294 Carries - 1,429 Yards - 4.9YPC - 7 TDs
2 - 319 Carries - 1,025 Yards - 3.2YPC - 3 TDs

Guy C
1 - 160 Carries - 697 Yards - 4.4YPC - 11TDs
2 - 266 Carries - 1,014 Yards - 3.8YPC - 9TDs

To make it to college, or be drafted in the NFL, you pretty much have to win. Most players drafted have won far more games than they have lost at every level, or they wouldn't be there. No level before the NFL has any relevance to the NFL.

Tim tebow playing QB is like a one armed amputee playing WR. He could be great at running routes, beating his man, understanding the offense, etc, but if he can't catch he can't play.

The point is, he's also won at the NFL level. He has "it" whatever "it" is. I get that he isn't the most polished QB, but it's hard to deny that he's something special.

Thats my point though Doom, we cant really glean anything from a years worth of experience so to completely write someone off after a year where he was MORE succesful than 2 HOFer's were in their first years is insanity at its finest. Need a larger sample size.
