I would have no problem with VY getting another shot although his issues are of his own creation ( the few times he freaked out and looked unstable). Tebows issues are the circus that surrounds him WHICH he never asked for.

Tebow's issues end with the circus that surrounds him. They begin with his awful skillset.

I believe his contract was prohibitive. Not exorbitant but enough that it's a lot to pay a backup, especially one that would have difficulty stepping in and taking over if needed, if you are trying to take full advantage of the few years Peyton has left.

Getting run out of Denver wasn't his fault, but it was the right football decision for them IMO.

How was it not his fault? What does Tebow get a pass for? I get it, it's John Fox's fault Tebow's arm is weak. It's Josh McDaniels' fault that Tebow is inaccurate. It's John Elway's fault Tebow has funky footwork. It's obviously all Adam Gase's fault for not fixing Tebow's throwing motion. It's Mike McCoy's fault for not completely overhauling the offense to fit Tim Tebow's unique skillset. It's Dennis Allen's fault for not applying defensive schemes that made Tebow look good in practice. It's Urban Meyer's fault for doing what was best for the Gators rather than getting Tebow NFL ready. What does that leave us to blame his high school coach for? His parents too, his mom should have made him faster and his dad should have made him taller. Lets blame his brother for not playing with him more and his sister for teaching him how to throw a ball. Let's blame little Billy down the street for not being a better player himself and not pushing Tebow harder. What else can we blame everyone else on for Tebow deficiencies?

Because without the shot at Peyton you ride the wave of tebow at least another year. You may start looking long term already, but even without much of a skill set, you keep his momentum going. When he inevitably flames out you replace him.
