I was expecting to see Barkley's name. Good for Mayfield though. Hopefully he can build on that & not have a sophomore slump.

Yeah and not to take away from Baker either, but damn some times these rookies of the year awards should be separated...… I mean if there was any Giants fans around here they would have a legit bitch ( crap I can't use that word anymore) Barkley ran behind one of the worse Olines in the league.

Barkley wasn't even PFF's top rookie RB, let alone top overall rookie. They had Chubb as the top RB in the NFL based on his PFF rating.

Can't really argue with Mayfield winning it and they have Barkley second. Both kids had great years.
As for PFF and some of these advanced metrics, I take it with a grain of salt.

Would have went with Barkley myself, but doesnt surprise me.
QB owns awards unless another position was out of this world.

Barkley was they both were historic seasons
well. Let me rephrase.
Out of this world vs. the QB in question.

Seems like if anything is even remotely close. It will go to the QB.

I mean, he broke the rookie TD record and improved his team's record by 7 games. It's not like he was just a good rookie QB. The Giants improved by a whopping 2 games with Barkley, and they even had a healthy OBJ all year long too. From a qualitative standpoint, both Nick Chubb and Phillip Lindsay were better than Barkley. Barkley just had a shit ton of touches.

I thought it was Barkleys to lose with the fantastic season he had...... But I will say whenTyrod Taylor started at qb for Cle,they looked autrocious......Baker comes in and whammo,he had them in contention for a playoff spot late in the year....

I guess it's gonna be a tough call.........
