Probably easy to tell with my posts lately that I’m pretty high on Gallup. I love Cooper. Definitely a top 10 WR in this league. I just wonder how good Gallup can really be. We know he is a deep threat. It was great seeing him come back to Dak the other night on the TD. I wonder if he screwed up on that first throw though.


On another note , I saw where PFF has graded all the rookies so far in the preseason. I know people have their reservations about PFF, but supposedly we had 4 out of the top 15 with Wilson being #1.

Practice Recap: La’el Collins Joins Injury List

This stood out to me.

"Tight end depth continues to be an issue with veteran Jason Witten the only player at apparent full strength. Blake Jarwin (foot) and Dalton Schultz (ankle) continue to rehab from their injuries. Codey McElroy and Marcus Lucas got banged up in last Saturday’s game against the Texans but were able to practice on a limited basis."

So the only healthy TE is the OLD guy.

I'm sure I'll change my mind on some of these in the next week and as health issues arise/go away, but my GUESS at the 53 as of today:

That's 52. Would like to see another OT but don't know who I would pick. This could become clearer after the last preseason game.
Could go LB for STs purposes or D Thompson as a Safety/STs guy

The better teams in the NFL find quality in round 4-7. We are finally doing that since mcclay came on board. He deserves a raise.

Yes to a raise and he also deserves the title of GM. If we don't give it to him, he will be gone after this year. Teams will be looking for minority GMs after the reports of how few HCs and GMs are minorities. I don't even think a boatload of money will keep him

10 DBs? & only 5 LBs?

Our backup LBs just aren't impressive to me, But, like I wrote the 53rd player could be a LB. The other side of it is would the 6th LB ever be active on game day (If injury we could call one up from the PS)? If not I take the better player and to me that is a CB. The extra DB would fill the STs need. We need 4 safeties and Olumba and Goodwin look like guys who could be in a defensive rotation down the road and both play STs. I'm hoping we don't cut either and I don't think we will.

ESPN's Todd Archer reports Cowboys OG Connor McGovern (partially torn pec) suffered a setback in his recovery, putting his status for the season in jeopardy.
The third-round pick wasn't expected to begin the season as a starter, but the news certainly isn't good for the Cowboys' depth across the offensive line. Losing a third-rounder before the season starts is never ideal. Second-year LG Connor Williams is now solidified as a starter.

This sucks. William's has looked better in the preseason.. he is not getting man handled. McGovern likely headed to IR. Maybe he can return late in the season to get some work in preparation to becoming the starting LG next season. William's can move over to RT
