Rico finds work. Obviously this writer has no idea who Rico is if he thinks Rico is going to make the team as a blocker


Browns signed TE Rico Gathers.
TE/FB Orson Charles was cut in the corresponding roster move. Gathers was on the market a little less than a week following his release from Dallas. A former college basketball star at Baylor, Gathers has yet to pan out in the NFL, logging a mere three catches for 45 yards over 146 career snaps. He'll hope to make the squad as a blocking complement to starter David Njoku.

Jarwin looks like a weapon. I think he puts up better receiving numbers than Witten by a lot this year

So looks like Gifford is out for the preseason. Wonder if we just stash him on IR at this point and start over with him next year. With LVE, Jaylon, Lee and Thomas we have 3 guys even when Lee is hurt. The problem is since Lee will be injured, if any of the others get hurt at the same time we will need play March-Lillard or Covington which I think will hurt us. This gives Gifford a year to learn the defense a little better too.

Jarwin needs to block better. I agree that he is a weapon in the passing game. He gets open and moves well after the catch. I think they should line him up outside on third downs.

Correct, he can't block very well. If Schultz doesn't step up as a blocker we need to have a 4th TE on the roster

Jaylon's progress from the year before to last year was remarkable and if he is 100% this year, I think he runs with just about anyone.

Jaylon's progress from the year before to last year was remarkable and if he is 100% this year, I think he runs with just about anyone.

His straight line speed is incredible. I remember them saying that when he chased down Watson at the goal line his top speed was faster than some of the best skill players. He still looked a little tight and didn't quite have that elite hip turn or ability to change direction that he seemed to have in College and if with one more year of health he regains that he could be one of the best players in the league. Damn guy is 250lbs running like that.
