November 7, 2018:

153. Oklahoma City Thunder over Cleveland Cavaliers
154. Detroit Pistons over Orlando Magic
155. New York Knicks over Atlanta Hawks
156. San Antonio Spurs over Miami Heat
157. Indiana Pacers over Philadelphia 76ers
158. Memphis Grizzlies over Denver Nuggets
159. New Orleans Pelicans over Chicago Bulls
160. Sacramento kings over Toronto Raptors
161. Los Angeles Lakers over Minnesota Timberwolves
162. Utah Jazz over Dallas Mavericks

I guess I'll find out how many underdogs @MHSL82 picked, even though I said I wouldn't look at lines.

NBA Basketball Scores - NBA Scoreboard - ESPN

Underdogs picks:

* San Antonio
* Memphis
* Sacramento

Everyone else was favored.

Also, here's the disclaimer. Sometimes the lines don't represent who is favored, but rather at which point to set the line so that the money is on both sides.

I only consider someone an underdog or a favorite based upon who I think is the better team. But sometimes I will pick the team that I don’t think is better.

Toronto is 4 - 17 in Sacramento all-time.

Had I known that, I would have given Sacramento a better chance.

It looks like this is one of those places that Toronto usually loses, every year.

If you have time, can you provide reasons for 163, 165, 166? Because they seem like they could be good games.

November 8, 2018:

163. Houston Rockets over Oklahoma City Thunder
164. Boston Celtics over Phoenix Suns
165. Portland Trailblazers over Los Angeles Clippers
166. Milwaukee Bucks over Golden State Warriors

The two teams who had rebounds from their slow start are meeting up. I think Houston is better, no matter how disappointing. Now they have Carmelo and Harden who may be semi-motivated?

I think that Milwaukee should be motivated to have a surprise win and the Warriors should legitimately lose at least one game every 12. I know they already have one loss and I don’t want to call it illegitimate (so I will), but it was to the Denver Nuggets.

Denver is a good team but not a great team. I don’t know if Milwaukee is a great team. They have a great player. I don’t know if Denver has a great prayer cause I don’t pay attention much to them.

And yes, any team can beat any team on any given night and so it does not matter who is better or whatnot. In a seven game series, that’s a bit different. Even then there could be an upset but this is a prediction thread, is it not?

I typed that whole thing while you were typing. I felt those games had to be explained. As to the Portland Trailblazers, I am just giving them the home win. I consider the Clippers and Trailblazers to be relatively the same with Portland being better.

Milwaukee won at Golden State last year. So Golden State will want to avenge that.

But Draymond Green is out. But they still have a lot of talent.

Denver has a great player in Jokic, but I don't like their guards, or Millsap at this point.

Westbrook is also out for the Thunder.

So what teams were your underdogs on Nov. 7th?

Also, are you going to go back and post the winners in bold, at some point, like you did for the first few games?

Yes, I will when I get the time on the computer.

157, 158, 160, 161. Should be 155, too, but Atlanta has disappointed, even if predictably? I “?” because I know nothing about them but feel they should be a .400 team. Maybe they are?

175. Milwaukee Bucks over Los Angeles Clippers
176. New Orleans Pelicans over Phoenix Suns
177. Miami Heat over Washington Wizards
178. Chicago Bulls over Cleveland Cavaliers

I am not sure about 180 and 183. What do you think, @nuraman00 ? I could also see 177 going the other way.

Spurs, because they're more consistent.

Lakers, in a toss up.

Wizards, because they have the best player, in Wall. Although Josh Richardson is very good too, for Miami.

You’re right. I think Washington will still win some games even though they aren’t doing as well as some people think they should. Might as well be against the team that is OK.

I think a lot of my predictions are in the big picture as opposed to specific games, even though I am predicting specific games. I feel a team will end up at some point and they will end up there by beating X type of team. Sometimes it’s where I think that they will all be motivated more. Sometimes it’s based upon schedule, even though I know you don’t really believe in that. There are 82 games in a season. I understand that.

I was thinking the Lakers because with LeBron, they should win some games and it would be better to predict games against middle tier teams. I think this year they will beat middle tier teams. And an occasional big game. Next year, they will start beating bigger teams more consistently.

I actually think they’ll start winning earlier than that, I’m just being conservative.

I almost always pick the Spurs when it’s a tossup because of their consistency, especially at home. But I know they started out 5-2 or something and now are 6-4. The sample size is and was so small I couldn’t really possibly know what type of team they are except for reputation. (I guess I could if I paid attention more.)

The Spurs have some moving parts, with Derrick White being their new PG, after the DeJounte Murray injury.

But also established stars in DeRozan and Aldridge.

I also just trust their system more.

And the Rockets are last in points in the paint, and their defense has taken a hit too.

Are you also doing MVPs after every game, or is predicting league-wide games your hobby for this season?

I have just been really busy. I can catch up with MVP, but not with predictions. I also can’t do predictions and pulled beforehand.

I will save you the suspense, Ingles is the MVP so far. I expect Mitchell to later get first or Gobert.
