NFL Power Rankings Week 3 - National Football League - ESPN

While most have given us the number 1 ranking, there are still some for NFL.com that have there heads up their asses. Heath Evans, Kurt Warner, Brian Webber, and Darren Sharper all have Houston ahead of us. I think the Texans are our biggest threat and i don't care too much about what we're ranked, but i think it's pretty obvious who should be number 1 right now.

At least LaCanfora doesn't have a vote or you know he would still have the Bucs ahead of us. Btw what happened to him? Please tell me he finally got fired.

He moved to CBS Sports.

Not sure how you can rank the Texans ahead of us at this point. We've beaten two playoff teams and they've beaten the trash of the league.

Not the Texans fault and by no means do I imply they aren't a great team because they are but for power ranking purposes it's a no brainer the 9ers should be #1.

Mike Nolan is the Falcons Defensive Coordinator now?

That's it, I hope the 49ers get the Falcons in the playoffs at some point. Man would that be sweet to eliminate the team he is coaching for on the way to a Super Bowl victory. It'd be good for Alex too, since Nolan threw Smith under the bus like he did.

Maybe Smith can throw Nolan under the Super Bowl parade mobile (I honestly can't remember what that is called).

Come on now its obvious...

Niners going into Lambeau beating a contender dominately then beating another playoff team at home very soundly while both holding their respect 10,000 yard passers to low #s <<<<<<<<<<<<<<< Texans whooping the dolphins starting a rookie Qb and the Jags who drafted a punter in the 3rd....

:burt:

Punters and FG Kickers are badly underrated when it comes to the NFL Draft. Especially in a the type of Field position game the Jags know they have to play to win right now. They need their Lee and Akers to go with an improved D and solid running game to help Gabbert.

With that said not sure 3rd round is the spot to draft a Punter. I'd say more 5th round and on, but if you can draft a guy that can drastically change the field position why not?

Anyway I'd go

1. 49ers
2. Falcons
3. Texans
4. Ravens
5. Chargers

The 49ers beat 2 playoff teams last year with 1 of those being a road win against the team with the best record in the league last year.

The Falcons beat 1 playoff team and looked very impressive in both wins, especially on offense.

The Texans have yet to face much competition but still think they are the cream of the crop in the AFC.

Ravens just ran into the miracle that is Michael Vick. He maybe the most inconsistent greatest QB of all-time. Even in bad games he is always capable of pulling out a win.

Chargers at 2-0 are secretly my dark horse team to finish strong in the AFC. I thought putting the Patriots here but not after a home loss to a team still without a solid QB. I'm also not sold on the Eagles being a contender just yet.

We should be ranked ahead of the Texans because of the quality of the opponents but the Texans are legit.

I think they have the best running game in the league, Schaub is decent, and they have receiving weapons on offense when they need to use it.

On D they can rush the passer well and they've improved their secondary.

It would be a great matchup to see 49ers vs. Texans.

I think the Ravens could give us a real close game as well. They played us tough and beat us on a short week last year on Thursday night football.

In the NFC the Falcons have improved but their run game is bad I think we could just keep 6 in the box and rush 4 and contain their running game, and then focus on stopping their big 3 receiving threats (White, Julio, Gonzo).
Giants shut them out last year in the playoffs at home and they have the same personnel this year as last year, and you could argue Falcons running game is worse this year.

I think the Niners would be ahead of 'em if the BSC were doing the rankings.
