30th (NYI) vs 29th (OTT)

Isles better watch out, Sens have recalled their tough guy, The bruising Robin Lehner, for tonight's game. GOALIE FIGHT!

I'm liking Butler's game quite a bit. Him and Spezza seem to already have a bit of chemistry.

Overall, it's just good to see them play with some energy for once. I guess that's what happens when you inject some youth into the lineup though.

And Butler ended up scoring too. :D

Plus that assist gives Spezza 500 points in his career. Congrats Jason!

What a joke that was. Neil took a puck in the neck/head region there and the play should have been blown dead immediately.

Seems like the Islanders are doing a lot of that lately...

At least Neil is okay though...

I can't tell you how nice it is to see the young guys playing hard though.

Grabner is AWESOME!!:)

Congrats to Nathan Lawson for getting his first win in the NHL.

Grabner looked pretty damn good tonight.

Dean Brown (Ottawa commentator) said he looks a lot like a young Marian Hossa and I tend to agree with that assesment. He looks exactly like he did in his younger days and I'm sure that excites you and to think you got him for free? That's one heck of a steal.

It was a hard fought game though and the Sens could have easily packed it in when they were down to 4 dmen. Congrats on the win!

Thanks. With the goaltending situation the Isles will take very win they can get.

A 2nd round pick for Kelly is pretty good value. It looks like Murray really is cleaning house. The Senators now have two 1's & two 2's. Do you think he's going to continue to stockpile draft picks or ask for some players in return for the other players he trades?

A lot of Sens fans are upset about this trade but honestly...how could you not see that changes were coming? Am I surprised Fisher and Kelly were the first ones to go? Yeah a little bit but at the same time I knew pretty much anybody was available.

Kelly for a 2nd round pick is about fair value if Fisher for a 1st and conditional pick was fair value. Bottom line is that Murray is trying to shed salary and he's doing just that.

I think he's going to stockpile draft picks and shed salary. That's the current approach or at least that's what it appears he's going to do. I think he should try to get a potential top 6 winger back in one of these trades though.

Yeah, I thought so too. I guess Phillips goes elsewhere now? Maybe Vancouver?

I don't know how Vancouver would fit him under the cap though? Murray might have to take a player back. Considering where the Canucks are in the standings that might not be a bad thing for the Sens.

There are plenty of teams in need of help on the blueline. Heck other teams are interested in Martinek. If there was one season for him to be healthy this is the one.

Boston is still not out of the question.

If Phillips goes there now maybe there is a salary coming Ottawa's way. Wheeler might not be a bad pickup for Ottawa.

Yeah, I guess you're right. Maybe Ottawa takes Wheeler in return. It might not be a bad thing either because we need some wingers who can play in the top 6.
