There was a third choice and probably the best one, while I agree that the homeowner "could" have responded to the police in a different manner, it's also true that the police could have also displayed more restraint. Literally, police are rightfully titled "peace officers" it's in their job description. I know that it's comfortable to apply your life's experiences against those of others, but please do, every once in a while try to see things from the perspective and experiences of others. They aren't always the same thing.

The homeowner should have. They were responding to save his stuff.

The police could have, but when you are responding to a burglary, you have to assume the person is armed. When the person refuses to obey, you have to react.

They really aren’t. They are law enforcement officers...their actual title.

Maybe you should try that. Put yourself in somebody else’s shoes...one where a gun pointed at you is not unusual.

The other day I got in a discussion with a person or two here not so much about politics but about name calling. A person or two said it was Trump supporters calling him name and not happening the other way around.

'Hurtful' comments force LPGA pro to take social-media break after golfing with Trump

Maybe I had a credible point when I said it was both sides doing the name calling. :noidea:
Can't be true. My liberal buddies on here have assured me it's only one sided. Liberals are the face of reason ive come to learn. Not buying this.

Note sarcasm

I think someone is overlooking the word "not" emphasizing the word "morally" and completely dismissing the word "fair."

I didn’t overlook it. Justice is based on morality; therefore, unjust would be immoral. I used moral and you said I changed something. Just and fair are slightly different. Fairness is opinion...justice is slightly less.

Completely untrue, people are "priced out of good healthcare all of the time. Just because it hasn't happened to people who count doesn't mean that it doesn't happen.

Yes and it's a reality of life in this country, a proactive healthcare system can be effective in changing this. There was a time when doctors visited homes, they still do in Canada. As I said create an uniquely American system and we're all better off.

Criminal records can also be manufactured. The criminal justice system is one that requires a steady stream of new or returning bodies to maintain itself. Eliminating weed criminalization takes a huge chunk out of this make work program alone! (I know you're against it)

Of course some people can’t afford them. Individuals who do not earn enough...individual merit.

I am sorry, but not everybody deserves the greatest healthcare. People who abuse alcohol should not get liver transplants paid for by somebody else. If they can’t afford it, that is their problem.

Why do Canadians who can afford to come to the US for care do so?

Criminal records can’t really be manufactured. It is incredibly hard to set somebody up for a crime today.

I am actually for legalization, contrary to your belief. I am for expunging the records of drug offenders, not dealers, if they help build the wall and learn that skill. I believe, if weed is to be illegal, the punishment should be fines. I also believe that all drugs should be legal. If somebody wants to kill themselves, let them.

Its easier to say i dont believe in the current constructs of god, than to explain that i dont believe in organized religion. Something created all this. Its highly pretentious to believe that out of all the possibilities, only the one you feel comfortable with will get you to heaven and everyone else will go to hell.

Actually, if you believe in anything, and it says one thing is good and correct, and another thing is bad and wrong, then it is simply a belief.

Muslims feel infidels should be killed. Muslims believe non-Muslims don’t get the reward. How pretentious they must be. Muslims think you can get the reward...if you earn it.

Christians on the other hand, believe they are not good enough. They believe no matter what they do to earn their place in Heaven, they simply are not good enough. They believe they are saved by Grace and the only way to the Father is through the Son.

Pretentious- attempting to impress by affecting greater importance, talent, culture, etc., than is actually possessed.

So Christians are trying to impress by stating they are not good enough, alone? Who are we trying to impress? Try again.

So I look at the poverty chart and read this in fine print. 'No claims are made regarding the accuracy of Population below poverty line (%) information contained here.

Exactly why is that genius? ...because census counting by nature can't be completely (100%) accurate. People don't always respond to surveys, hide for any number of reasons including not being counted because of the safety of those making the count. What it does do is give as accurate accounting as humanly possible or do you have better information? I'm open to any factual information that refutes this!

This is a stand alone posting, I need not say anything more than what you already have about inhumanity, lack of understanding concerning the state of policing, or the Canadian healthcare system.

Interesting in that she does admit to something that I agree with, her quote and I'll underline the pertinent parts:

"Hey everybody, just want to say I will be taking a break from social media. If I post it will be from my management team for me. I’m too involved with it, and to read some of the hurtful things being said to me lately isn’t fair and I’m not dealing with it. Thank you to my true fans out there I will be back on but I’m going to be focusing on me right now and my life. Thanks for understanding."

Social media is the bane of our existence! Yes, I know that this is a social media platform.

the press is supposed to be fair and not have a horse in this race . so trump calls them out on their propaganda and fake news

as for lies i am not acknowledging anything for it serves no purpose . he lies as do others is as far as i go

If after all of this you still can't admit that Trump lies at a level never seen before you have proven you are simply not being fair or truthful. As for the Press it's as if you still can't see how equally slanted Fox and conservative radio show hosts are. They are pulling the exact same crap but you are unwilling to admit it.

Was this really in doubt? You have a hand picked Trump guy, a guy who was critical of the investigation from the start. It was obvious that his summary would be biased. And this boys and girls is why the Dems want Mueller to testify before Congress, because we want the entire truth not a Trump butt boy's spin. There may have been no collusion but the story does not end there.

The only legitimate and Constitutional requirement of a police officer is to enforce the law.

Did you actually read the the article? The special counsel stated nothing Barr said was inaccurate or misleading.

This would mean disbanding the military, the police, fire and so on. Do you honestly believe that this country will become less socialistic or more so? We are paying through the nose for an ever expanding military, our police are armed and more para-military than actual police. There are real issues in this nation that should be concerning to all of us. Healthcare for example, is a real need of everyone, we will either tackle the issue or ignore it at our peril. If the answer is a socialistic approach to the same, it's better that, than the destruction of the nation. Perhaps we can figure out solutions instead of fighting to no end!
it would not mean anything like that

Again, collusion is not a crime, the proper charge WILL be conspiracy. Trump and his people injected "collusion" into the atmosphere because he and they knew that it wasn't a crime but it set the stage for all to follow and be fooled into thinking that once announced he would be cleared of something. BTW: there's ample evidence of both conspiracy and obstruction of justice.

In case anyone wants to read Mueller's letter to Barr objecting to his summary of the report, I'll post I!

BIDEN, ENTIRE SENATE ONCE VOTED IN FAVOR OF RESTORING GENERAL LEE’S CITIZENSHIP
11:30 AM 04/27/2019 | POLITICS
Mike Brest | Reporter

"Former Vice President Joe Biden was a part of the 94th Congress that voted to restore Confederate General Robert E. Lee’s citizenship over 100 years after his death, and yet Biden attacked President Donald Trump’s support of the general in his campaign announcement video earlier this week.

On Thursday, Biden entered the presidential race, and he used Trump’s words about a statue of Lee and the people who attended the Unite the Right rally in August 2017 as the focal point for his announcement video."

OH OH!!! Guess who else was there??? Bernie Sanders !!!!!!

Highest of the Highpocrats!!!!!
