Seriously though as @Darkstone42 stated they should put him with Crosby for a period of time. It seems that him and Malkin are like oil and vinegar right now.

Great game for Murray and Crosby tonight. If not for Murray it could have easily been 5-4 but with that said Price made some great saves.

Anyway Crosby tried too hard getting Guentzel a HT he failed for 1200 pts.

Honestly I think keeping Guentzel with Crosby and putting Kessel with them two. The only issue there is with Rust out hopefully McCann or Hornqvist could fill that Role. I don’t want Simon anywhere near Malkin at this point.

I think Kessel is a huge liability on D and if you don't have an Ashton-Reece (kid looks great!) or a Horny on a line with him, you open yourself up to a ton of poor play in the D zone. Dude is such a liability. Any team that checks/plays the body, and the dude just disappears...

That’s why playing with Crosby and Guentzel is not a bad idea. Neither of them are liabilities whereas playing with Malkin who gets way too sloppy in his own end exposes him even more.

Crosby should be talked about for Selke this year, and Guentzel's been solid enough defensively to kill penalties. Moving Kessel away from Aston-Reese isn't going to hurt him.

I think Hornqvist has been playing much better lately, too, and he and Aston-Reese might complement each other well on Malkin's flanks. I think Geno is best when he's the puck carrier on his line. Kessel needs the puck too much to mesh with him. Sid doesn't need the puck on his stick all the time to do what he does. I think he'd work better with Phil.
