1. Phoenix Suns (13.0 WARP from draft picks)

The Suns have amassed more first-round picks than any other team in the league. In all likelihood they will have three first-round picks next year (Indiana and Minnesota owe them future first-rounders) and two in 2015 (when they get a pick from the Los Angeles Lakers via the Steve Nash trade). Of course, the most valuable of all are Phoenix's own. SCHOENE projects the Suns as the league's worst team in the tougher Western Conference, and estimates they head into the lottery in the No. 1 spot more than 60 percent of the time. While that doesn't guarantee the No. 1 selection (the Suns land that an estimated 22 percent of the time), it would mean getting one of the four top prospects in 2014's deep draft. Phoenix figures to spend one more season near the top of the lottery, and could have two 2015 lottery picks depending on how the Lakers fare in free agency next summer.

Phoenix Suns (ESPN Forecast record prediction: 22-60) -- They have a gaping hole at power forward, and Randle would be a no-brainer if he's available. Where it would get complicated is if both Randle and Wiggins are on the board (ie. Phoenix drafts first), since a scoring wing is just as big of a need. Odds are, Wiggins would be the Suns choice.

UPDATE: Earlier this week we looked at Marcin Gortat's potential trade value, and today our ESPN Insiders Bradford Doolittle and Amin Elhassan took things a step further, delving into the destinations where Gortat's skill set would best be utilized. What'd Doolittle and Elhassan determine?

Doolittle argued that Gortat would be a perfect fit for the Los Angeles Clippers, while Elhassan contended that the big man would be able to focus on his strengths in Oklahoma City. Either team could dangle their 2014 first-round pick, which could be appealing to the rebuilding Suns, even if it ends up being a mid-to-late 20s selection. Miami, San Antonio and Golden State (if Andrew Bogut is injured) are three other contenders that could consider Gortat, with each potentially in the market for help at center while their window of opportunity remains open.
---

Marcin Gortat is name that often came up in trade rumors last season, and that is sure to be the case again in 2013-14; The veteran center is a poor fit on the young, rebuilding Phoenix team that certainly would like to give 2013 lottery pick Alex Len a good look. If Gortat is dealt -- and it seems more like a matter of when not if -- the question is what he'll be able to bring the Suns back in return.

Today, ESPN Insider Kevin Pelton listed the Polish big man among the 10 players most likely to be dealt, and touched on that very topic.

Merry Fucking Christmas

Good read. Gortat will be dealt to a contender by Christmas and we will get a mid level first round pick. You can't fuck up four first rounders, right? I will gladly take randle or Parker but the pick needs to be wiggins if he is still on the board. Lose baby, lose!

Gortat isn't an awful center like some suns fans make it seem. He misses 50 lay ups but hes Mobile and can roll to the basket pretty well. Blocks shots decently. It will be interesting to see how much effort Dragic and Bledsoe will give I don't want either of them asking out for a contender, because we will suck and they will ball out and we will lose a lot of close games. Its going to be a tough season, but as long as Bledsoe and Dragic play well and get recognition around the league we should be fine.

Glad we didnt get McLemore every time he touches the ball he has to shoot, falls asleep on defense, sloppy handles. Reminds me of a Beasley!

My dream scenario is that we somehow end up with both Wiggins and Randle. Get the no. 1 pick and then take our other 3 1st rounders (1 from a Gortat trade) and trade up for the 2nd pick. Highly unlikely but a man can dream. :hope:

A package of the 14th-16th pick along with two late first rounders probably wouldn't get us the 2nd pick though... more likely to get a pick in the 4-6 range with that.

If we got Wiggins, Randle or Gordon, Wiggins and one of those two we would sell out every game.

host Brown and Gortat for a trade maybe get something........ this team is gonna suck but at least we have 2 exciting guards and a dunker. Bledsoe knows how to throw an alley right? I mean when was the last time we had a player who could really get up other than Brown?

Id take Aaron Gordon if he is anything close to resembling Blake Griffin. As long as Wiggins isn't available. hehe
