I know I'm going to be the minority but I refuse to watch another winter classic until there are two fresh teams playing

I think we're stuck. I don't understand why they can't choose different teams every year. There are teams throughout the league that want to participate. They could play a game in Minnesota, Columbus, Denver, Ann Arbour (Red Wings) or St. Louis just to name a few.

Heritage classic ? :D and yes that would be more appealing to me.I don't know maybe its me but repeating teams just makes it stale.

I agree with you both but the NHL is to hell bent on star power. Personally I think the game being played outside is enough of a selling point to get good ratings. I'm not saying stars don't help and the ratings may be higher but I don't think they would be that much higher like most people think.

It comes down to greed.

I'm glad the Flyers got the game, but like a lot of you have said....there are some great other teams/venues that would have been just as exciting.

Side note: Do season ticket holders get first dibs on these tix or is it up for grabs??

To bad the Av's-Wings rivalry isn't that big anymore, that would be a great game..

I'm actually surprised at how quickly they are re-using teams. I hope they use the Bruins again in the next couple years, cause I am def going. I almost went to the one at Fenway, but 500 bucks a ticket... nah.

1) This thread needs more pissed off people. All I see are some mocking jokes sans one poster. Where's all the outrage? The unfairness of it all.

2) This is going to be a great classic.

3) All the people arguing for every team are retarded/misguided. I said it when the Pens were picked again and I'll say it when our most hated rival is picked again. This isn't for you. This isn't for me. It's for Joe Sportsfan. The NHL is attempting to sell the game. As riveting as I'm sure a Phoenix/Minnesota matchup would be, I'm a little more excited about this one.

4) Torts on 24/7 = dream come true.

Thats the thing loki as a sports fan I want to see variety not just the teams bettman pushes.Their are several rivalries and combinations that are just as exciting if not more exciting than watching the same repetitive cycle repeat. To me its turning into a great movie with to many sequels.I can understand the whole star power ratings angle but there's also something to be said for having a Cinderella teams well.I think that's what made the first the best for me was having an underdog to root for in buffalo. In my opinion if bettman keeps forcing sports fans to watch a repeat of the same teams it grows old loses its luster and fades away.I know I'm losing interest.
