Gwynn is doing well so far. A pleasant surprise! I would like to see Asche step it up another notch. That would give our offense more balance. That being said,we will need some offense today with Hernandez pitching!

I just don't get it. In April, he has a multi-hit game and hits his first homer, and they bench him. His average slowly rises and he hits his second yesterday, and he's benched again.

Nix is 1 for 19 against lefties and Asche is 1 for 9 against them. So why not start Asche since he needs to learn how to hit them?
